Great App!!

This app as been fantastic! I bought it as an emergency tool but find I use it more during normal flying than I thought I would. One of my favorite features is the fallback metar. KBFE is one I use pretty regularly and having another nearby weather source automatically available when I need it is really handy.

I also use the airport weather search all the time. If I’m flying near an airport that isn’t actually part of my route but I’m talking to them, I’ll pull the airport up in Land Now and leave it open. If they ask my distance, I can glance at my phone and answer immediately instead of fumbling around in ForeFlight trying to measure it.

Another thing I’ve started doing when the weather is questionable is opening the results screen before conditions ever get bad. I’ll use a 25 or 50 mile radius and periodically refresh it. Just looking at the basic weather for all the airports around me gives me a really good picture of what conditions are doing in the area and whether things are getting better or worse. I like having that information available long before I actually need it.

Night Mode is another feature I really like. Flying at night, it’s reassuring to immediately see what airports around me have runway lighting and what my options are if I need to get on the ground.

For longer flights, I’ll also search several airports along my route and keep them together on the weather results page. It gives me a quick way to watch conditions along the route without repeatedly searching for individual airports.

And being able to tap the weather phone number from the airport details page is great. The call goes straight through my phone into my headset, so I can listen to the airport weather without having to write down or manually dial the number.

What I probably like most is that Land Now isn’t something I only use when there’s an emergency. I use it routinely while flying to keep track of nearby airports and weather. If things ever do start going wrong, I’ve already got the information in front of me.
