Great Incentive App!

As someone who struggles with SAD, getting myself to workout is HARD. This app is a great little tool to keep my incentivizes to hit my goals! Free as long as you hit your targets and you get to set the penalty if you don’t. Definitely recommend.
Also their support is TOP TIER! The answer quickly, are friendly and get any issues taken care of right away. 5 Stars all around!

Thought it was great, then…

I was really enjoying this app. Then I had an issue with the app showing all my goals were met, but then got the text that I did not meet my goals and I would be charged. I wrote several messages trying to see what happened. Absolutely no response. When I checked my charges, I also saw that they had over charged from my agreed commitment charge. No response when asking about that either.

Response from developer

Hi, Sorry to hear about your poor experience. We just located your attempts to reach us. It appears our support system never notified us about it. We genuinely apologize for that. Needless to say, we've refunded you for the penalty you were charged that week, and the fee for quitting the app early. I am terribly sorry about your experience on the app.

Can’t add payment method

I have everything set up, but get stuck when trying to add a payment method. Any help would be appreciated.

Fabulous customer support

Great and super fast customer service. I am super tech ignorant and couldn’t figure this app out, again all on me. Deleted the app and didn’t think about it again. Had some communication issues after and the support team was super fast and very helpful with a resolution. I am sure this is a great resource for many and the idea of this is brilliant. Best of luck to a great company.

Awesome App!

I’ve been using this app for 5 months now and I love it! It is a little buggy from time to time, but Justin and the crew are always so helpful with getting the issues fixed and finding out what went wrong. It’s definitely keeping me accountable on my goals!

Motivator

If your looking for the app to hold you accountable this is it. Great reminders if you get off track!

Lost my apple watch & they still made me pay quitting fee

I lost my apple watch in the river and emailed customer support to see if they would end my commitment without me having to pay a fee, because i expected them to want to make money off people being lazy and not peoples misfortunes. I will not be using this app when I get a new watch.

Response from developer

Hi Vishaal, To prevent abuse of the commitment, we have no choice but to maintain the strict requirements for the commitment. We’re terribly sorry you lost your watch, but we needed to safeguard against users that might find ways to quit the commitment without consequence, when things got hard for them. Unfortunately, this means users such as yourself who may have genuine reasons to quit, will still need to pay the quitting fee. Our sincere apologies for the experience on the app, We can only hope you understand our position.

Love and highly recommended 🎉

This app holds me accountable and keeps me motivated to meet my goals; I love it!

Does not support Fitbit

I have an iPhone but use a Fitbit for tracking it says comming soon for Fitbit since last year

Great motivator

I have been using the app for three weeks now and I have definitely seen in increase in my activity. The first week I just had a regular week to see where I naturally landed (lost $5) but then the following week killed it. And almost done with this current week and doing well! I am definitely someone who needs external motivation and this creates the right kind of incentive to work out. Move or lose money. The lazy jar team/person (?) is quick to respond if you have any questions and the app is easy to navigate. I highly suggest it.

Garmin?

Hoping for an update soon to sync my Garmin watch! I would love to participate!!

Edit: thanks for the very prompt response to my inquiry. I found an app that turns my Garmin info into Fitbit info. It’s called SyncSolver. I’m going to try that with this app. Although I’d still very much prefer to sync directly with my watch. Looking forward to your next update!

Response from developer

Love the enthusiasm for Lazy Jar! We’re working on supporting future devices. Terribly sorry we don’t currently support Garmin at the moment. Could you send us an email with your preferred form of contact? We’ll let you know as soon as support for Garmin is available. Edit: I believe we just spoke via email. 😀 Please keep us posted on your clever workaround. Would very much like to know if it helps. We might make it a recommended temporary process for Garmin owners. Of course till we have full support for it.

Can’t access

Have tried twice to set up an account and get no further than that a code was sent to my email. I’ve tried twice. No Code has been sent.

Liking this app so far!

Seems like a good replacement for the now-defunct Pact.

One comment: the "Pace:" displays are confusing if I look at the app in the morning. Maybe exclude the current day from the computation or prorate it?

Edit: thanks for the reply! Still think it would be more useful if the pace did not assume that I'm going to do nothing for the rest of the current day - most of the time that is not true. If I'm looking at the app, I'm probably wanting to know if I've hit the required pace for the current day, or what pace I would need to hit. Perhaps those fields could update on a daily or prorated basis?

Response from developer

Hi David, thanks a ton for the feedback. The pace is definitely a little scary to look at in the morning. It’s calculated without the current day. The pace shows you how much you have to do for the rest of the week assuming you do nothing during the current day. As a result you’ll notice the pace amount improving as the current day progresses, since you are most likely increasing your activity numbers for the current day. I know I’ve said a mouthful. Please let me know if that helped at all. Edit: Hmmm, David that’s actually a cool idea. Giving the user in-depth analysis on a day to day basis might be something we’ll look into, once we’ve taken care of some basic functional improvements. Could be an advanced dashboard view.

Works Great...!!!

This app is very good to keep motivating everyday to exercise.
My heart rate has improved considerably. Yay!!!

I got back on the wagon!

With this app, I got back to exercising after a multi-year lazy streak! It motivated and kept me honest. The second version really improved usability and app stability. Recommend this to anyone looking for consistent motivation and more benefits from their fitness trackers.

Stuck🙁

I cannot get past the walkthrough screens. I’ve tried deleting/reinstall the app.

Excellent App to replace PACT

This app is fantastic! Easy to use and although at this time it only can be used with Fitbit or Applewatch I’m sure more devices will be coming. The creator answers ALL questions and is very responsive. He has answered every email of mine. It’s exactly what I was looking for to replace pact app. Also any money goes to St Jude (only if you break commitment) Great!! Thank you!!

Customer service helpful

I got a notification that I failed my first week and could not look back at your history to see if you actually did miss your commitment because I was so sure I did reach all my goals. I reached out for clarification and the response back was almost immediate and helpful.

Response from developer

Hi Lisa, Always happy to help. Will do our best to earn that 5 star. 😊

The only fitness app that has worked for me.

Super simple in its concept. But extremely effective. App gets straight to the heart of the matter. A lack of discipline! Been way more active these days. Kudos to the devs 👍👍

Love this app, now it’s even better!

So excited I can now use my Apple Watch with this app! For people like me that just need a tiny little extra motivation to keep active, losing money for not working out is the difference between getting up to workout or not. I love it! Make sure to make your “bet” high enough it will hurt if you miss a week’s goal.
