Feels like scammy recently
The booking and pricing system they designed is to take advatage of teachers and students. All about money making. Hire a better CEO that cares about teaching and the people!!!
Cash grab
The platform started off great and I really loved it. But now every interaction I have feels like a cash grab or borderline scam. I have favorite teachers who I used to love taking classes from, but now they are allowed to cancel classes with zero notice leaving me with a teacher I don’t know and who honestly doesn’t care to teach me. I on the other hand am not allowed to cancel if this happens so I’m left with nothing to do.
Another issue is due to work I got behind on my classes a bit and have a big build up, i tried to pause my subscription, but in doing so I’m not allowed to take classes. The credits become completely unusable even though I have paid for them. Why not let me use them? Because it’s a cash grab.
The prices swing wildly as well. I noticed the price for my package is nearly half of what I’m paying. So new students get the new rate and old students get exploited, not a good way to treat loyalty, again cash grab.
They’ve also lowered teacher rates, so good teachers have just left completely, and those that stay cancel constantly (presumably when they have better opportunities elsewhere).
I can’t wait to finish using my credits and get out of this toxic predatory system.

Spanish Learning
I’m a big fan of Lingoda. I used Duolingo for a few years including the paid version. It was a good baseline, but having a program to iteratively work through and practice speaking has definitely advanced my learning and confidence. The teachers have all been really nice and helpful - I certainly have favorite ones. The lesson plans are good too, and progress at a good rate. Definitely happy with Lingoda having completely over 100 lessons now.

Lingoda has been great for me
I had strong classroom French and needed people to speak with to reach next levels. Lingoda’s system of teachers from all over the francophone world, following a standard structure, is ideal for me. I think the individual classes are the best value - they cost a bit more but they are significantly more impactful. Merci!

Best school out there
Excellent program, the professors are helpful. The class size is small. The materials for homework and Backup resources are outstanding
Lingoda is amazing!
Has opened my life to being able to Speak Spanish. No other apps or programs work for me. I need a real teacher, I need real feedback, I need to be able to answer questions.

I wanted to transfer my credits from one account to another (french to English).
They are telling me we can only transfer 35 out of 48 because of price difference!
While the classes have the same pricing.
Unbelievable! After 175 classes in lingoda, Im thinking about leaving this platform and continue somewhere more reasonable.

A great way to learn
The app is great and I’ve enjoyed the lessons with a wide variety of teachers
So many resources
There is so much supplemental material to use to prep for classes and review and practice so you can make best use of class time, work on pronunciation, and review. I have liked most teachers and loved like 10 of them, only had one or two I would avoid if possible. It's expensive and requires a lot of time outside the class to get the most out of it, but it's incredibly well put together and helpful, and organised in a way I find useful and interesting. I would never do a sprint, the flex plans are best for me.

Great for confidence
Love how flexible it is for people who are working. It’s built to allow you to speak more ans that’s the point. Learn by doing and become more confident even when making mistakes. Thanks for the initiative.
The best way to learn German
When learning a language, you need to practice both the passive parts (listening and reading) and the active parts (speaking and writing.) Lingoda allows you to do both by having real quality live sessions with instructors and also accompanying texts and vocabulary support. It is by far the best language learning approach. Even in the age of AI where it is easier now to practice the active parts of language, there is no replacement for human interaction. The Lingoda app is very well organized, full featured and easy to use.
