Best macro app

This is a great app. Honestly genuinely very very good.

I’ve been tracking for a long time and this is the easiest, fastest way. And actual feedback plus workout tracking too? Crazy.

Deceiving

It seems really good on paper but in practice, not so much. As someone who’s been into fitness and tracking macros for a long time now, this was highly unrealistic and inaccurate. For example, when I logged my breakfast as 4 strips of bacon and some kimchi rice it told me it contained 50g of protein. This is just flat out untrue. Additionally, for mild SLOW weight loss it recommended me 1,400 calories and 141g of protein daily when I’m 5’1 and 113.5lbs. Not only is this highly unrealistic but potentially dangerous as the calorie count is extremely low for someone my size. Although the idea seems very well thought out, the AI just doesn’t seem very realistic or accurate.

Response from developer

Hi Milly! This is Andrey, the founder. Thank you for bringing this up. The food logging had an accuracy bug and it's exactly what we just fixed in the most recent update. You shouldn't see errors like that going forward and the app should work how you expected it to. On the 1,400 cal target: to give context, at 5'1"/113.5 lbs your maintenance calories on a sedentary day land right around 1,400. That’s roughly your baseline. I hear that the target felt low relative to what you expected but the algorithm is based on the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, which is the clinical standard registered dietitians use for estimating calorie needs. Depending on your activity level the numbers are correct and that range is standard and safe for someone your size. If you’d like to try it again email feedback@macrosgpt.app and I'll reset your trial personally :) And thank you — this is the exact kind of feedback that makes the app better.

Better than MyFitnessPal

It’s like chatGPT for your macros. Tracks your food and workouts then gives you real feedback and adjusts your plan on its own.

Response from developer

Thank you! "ChatGPT for your macros" might be the cleanest way anyone's described what we're building. The whole point is that coach Mac learns from your data and sharpens the plan as you go, so keep logging and he only gets more useful. If you ever have ideas or want to flag something reach out to feedback@macrosgpt.app or use the in-app feedback button located in your profile drawer. Thanks again! — Andrey, founder

The Only App you’ll Need

This is by far the most useful fitness app ive ever used. Never have i ever thought that i will find an app like this, you dont have to google calories calculator anymore, you wont have to download a separate food calorie count app, and you dont have to use chatgpt for health questions. Thats 3 apps in one. This is perfect.
