Demo app

Only two beat patterns are given: 3 and 7 (not 10, like the developer says). I guess you get what you pay for, but, really? Only 2 beat patterns out of the 30some that are in the full app? Throw us poor people a bone! Give us the most common time signatures at least! Although, my purpose in getting this app was to learn less common time signatures, so I guess I’ll have to scrape up $3.00.

Response from developer

Dude. (or dudette) A one star review of a demo app being a demo app? Throw this poor developer a bone. (I’m a company of one) If I gave the most common time sigs, no one would buy the full app. (And 3 is pretty common) Thanks for checking it out anyway.

Great App

It’s a great app but I don’t know how to change the time signatures. Can somebody please tell me how to change the time signatures in the app? thanks! :)

Response from developer

Bottom of screen. Select the other time signature - either 3 or 7 in this version.

Good app

Just wish this version came in 4/4 time instead of just 3/4, but I'm sure this isn't a problem with the full version. To bad I'm broke.

Amazing!

First, it is amazing to me that this app comes in a free version (try before you buy), which pretty much guarantees a sale. :-)

Second, it is amazing to me that such an amazing app could be tarnished by simpletons who don't know, understand or even *care* what the app is designed to accomplish. Let's just see what happens if I voice my concerns about this....

In the meantime, two thumbs WAYYYY up, Patrick!

FAQ

What is Maestro Lite?

Maestro Lite is a visually oriented metronome app that uses animated beat patterns to help musicians practice and develop their sense of rhythm and timing. It aims to provide a more expressive and engaging practice experience compared to traditional click-based metronomes.

How does Maestro Lite help with conducting?

Maestro Lite includes a 'Conductor's Point of View' which visually displays the path a conductor's baton would take. This feature is based on established conducting techniques and helps users practice and internalize conducting patterns.

Can I customize the sounds in Maestro Lite?

Yes, Maestro Lite allows you to try out 16 different types of 'tick' and 'tock' sounds. You can also change the colors of the baton, pattern, and text, as well as alter the transparency of the beat pattern and background image.

What are the beat patterns available in Maestro Lite?

Maestro Lite offers two beat patterns: 3 and 7 (2+3+2). The paid version of Maestro provides a much wider selection of 48 different meters, ranging from 1 through 12.

Does Maestro Lite save my preferences?

While you can demo the preferences within Maestro Lite, it will not save your choices. To save your settings and access more features, you would need to consider the full paid version of Maestro.

What is the 'Reduced' style in Maestro Lite?

The 'Reduced' style in Maestro Lite simplifies complex beat patterns at faster tempos while still maintaining the underlying beat count. For example, a 3-beat pattern might visually appear as a single beat at high speeds, but the app still clicks the three beats.

What devices does Maestro Lite support?

Maestro Lite is currently supported on iPhones. It also supports all orientations for easier use, especially when plugged in.

How often is Maestro Lite updated?

Maestro Lite was last updated on March 12, 2023, with its latest version being 7.0. This indicates a relatively recent update, suggesting ongoing support and development.
