About

ManimStudio renders mathematical animations on iPhone and iPad using manim, the open-source animation engine behind 3Blue1Brown's videos. Type a Scene class, tap Render, and watch the math come to life as a video — entirely on-device, no signup, no cloud. Built for math educators, content creators, and students who want to visualize mathematics without leaving their iPhone or iPad. ManimStudio bundles everything manim needs — there is nothing to install or configure. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Author Scene classes that produce animated videos using manim's full mobject API: Text, MathTex, Circle, Square, Arrow, Graph, NumberPlane, Transform, FadeIn, Write, Create. • Render at multiple qualities (480p, 720p, 1080p, 4K) with hardware video encoding via Apple VideoToolbox. • Compose mathematical formulas with LaTeX-backed Tex and MathTex mobjects — the LaTeX engine is bundled, no internet needed. • Auto-detect every Scene class in your file with the built-in scene picker. • Preview the rendered video the moment manim finishes — saved as MP4 to the Files app or shared to Photos, AirDrop, Mail. WHAT'S BUNDLED manim, numpy, scipy, sympy, matplotlib, plotly, PyAV, Cairo, and a full LaTeX engine. ManimStudio works entirely offline. No account, no telemetry, no internet required.

Apple Pencil to Manim Sketch on iPad and turn it into code. Circles, squares, rectangles, polygons, lines and freehand curves are recognised and converted into editable Manim Python. Entirely on-device. Presentation mode Play your latest render full screen, looping, with no interface in the way. Connect a TV or projector and it mirrors cleanly for teaching and talks. Custom output size Set an exact width and height, with one-tap presets for 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 and 16:9. Vertical and square exports for social, without leaving the app. Transparent backgrounds The new MOV format renders a real alpha channel, so an animation drops straight into Keynote or a video editor over your own footage. Renders that actually finish The screen no longer sleeps part way through a long render. And a pre-flight check now warns you before starting a render that will not fit in memory, offering a quality that will. Sharper mathematical text Unicode maths renders properly. Double-struck letters, subscripts, superscripts and mathematical alphanumerics no longer vanish from Text(). A rebuilt System tab Live memory and storage meters, thermal state, real details of the bundled Python environment, and a one-tap diagnostics report to attach to bug reports. Editor-first workspace Workspace opens on the editor, split positions persist between launches, and a command palette puts render, file and view actions one shortcut away. Also in this release Library snippets insert with correct indentation, the memory graph is clearly labelled, and finished renders can be dragged straight into other apps.
