Cozy and Fun!

As a cozy gamer, this one is key! I had it and didn’t get into it, but gave it a second try and am now hooked. Crisp and fun.

9/10 Game

After playing for about 2 weeks here are my thoughts about this lovely game!

TLDR; I recommend this game, especially if it continues to be updated :)

Pros:
-Graphics
-UI layout
-Layout/Town vibes
-World feels active and feels “lived in”
-Amount of inventory space
-WIDE range of items, crops
-Noise, Music, Sounds
-Lots to collect from trees and rocks; often the 15-60 minute cool down timer doesn’t feel like it impedes game play and helps me “slow down” as a resource collector
-Quests that make you feel like you’re working for them (engaging and goal directed gameplay which I enjoy)

“Cons”:
-Hard to move around (cursor doesn’t follow finger, confined to small area); possibly either let the cursor move more freely, or locate it in the bottom left corner consistently so that other pop ups don’t cause it to think the player is clicking for something rather than walking)
——from this, because of difficulty moving around, the indoor spaces feel too large and maze like/empty. Good example of indoor space usage: Armory, Clean Paws, Greenhouse
-Symbols too high up for axe specifically, makes hard to determine which object can be used
-Small farm space. Would be nice to get the option to craft/purchase planters or more farm space.
-Doesn’t feel like much to do at Megadon Shores and Snowy Island besides fish, collect materials, and see 1 new merchant. Wondering if more could come from the “bazaar”, such as possible artifacts or rotating rare items that you can get from reputation points or hearts from townies (maybe this would only be 9-12 slots instead of 3 tabs long)
-Doesn’t feel like much to “make” within each of the professions. I would love to see an increase in items that can be crafted or made.
-A lot of items are available to be gathered/collected, but many of them don’t feel like they have a purpose besides being a filler item. I would love to see the ability to gift many/all items to villagers (perhaps for reputation points instead of hearts)

Suggestions:
-“Fish Oven” in The Rusty Starfish should count towards cooking profession
-Loading Screen is half blacked out and half background.
-See about adding in fishing rod upgrades, or the ability for the bobber to sink slightly faster when in the fishing minigame. I find the bobber going down is the only thing holding me back from consistently catching fish fast.
-Easier to organize the chests and between tabs in inventory. Can’t organize without lots of back and forth or difficulty. Perhaps even 1 “auto organize” button?
-Pancake recipe has the same description as Fruit Cake in The Dancing Chicken.
-Add in option to purchase or craft more chests for home inventory.
-Add in option to purchase or craft sprinklers.
-Unsure if it was my mistake on missing dialogue, but “Tab 1-3” did not make sense and caused me to not find out more buying inventory from NPC’s. Perhaps an icon that looks like a book/receipt, or a scroll bar? Could be user error, but I felt confused.
Maybe either 2 tool slots or option to purchase second tool slot? Seed slot feels unnecessary since it isn’t used as frequently (so far in early game).

Lost

This game has no tutorial or anything on what to do or how to do stuff . The characters tell you to make go do something but doesn’t show you where or how to get it done . I’m trying to do stuff to get what the mouse or whatever he is wants me to do but no idea what it means or how to do it. It’s cute but .. not very user friendly.
Can’t even get a refund when it’s not our fault.

Just amazing.

If you like your Zelda’s you will love this. Enjoyed every min so far. Only issue I have is I don’t get much work done as it’s addictive. Thank you developer.

Cute&Cozy

I absolutely adore this game! I’ve been playing it for an hour straight and don’t want to put it down! I love the layout and how easy it is to understand and figure things out. Also a big fan of the music and sound effects. You can tell the care and passion that was put into making this game and I just love it! Plus the fact of no adds or micro transactions AND free updates? It’s a no brainer, get this app! So worth it!

Cute and peaceful, a good game to relax to

This is my first app I spent money on in over 5 years. I absolutely love the graphics and the missions are pretty self explanatory on how to complete them. With that being said: I wish there was a way to see who owns each storefront on the map. Starting out it’s a little confusing to figure out who is who and where they are. I also have some issues figuring out how to navigate what item has which properties. Overall I enjoy this app and can’t wait to see where the creator goes from here in potential updates. I’d say money well spent!!

Cute and Cozy!! Def get it

Downloaded after I saw lots of talk about it off a Facebook group about how interested they got once they started playing - And I literally got hooked too! I love it. Don’t hesitate to buy and try it out guys!

About an hour I played

So far i can tell a great deal was put into trying to explain how to use certain mechanics in the game that was done well. There was however several occasions where i needed to think about how something worked; and figure it out. Definitely a work in progress!

Really Great No Complaints So Far

This game is fun! so far i havent encountered anything i dont like the quest menu is and simple like many of the other in game menus. The only thing that could possibly be a little better is if we could have more customization options for out characters thats not a complaint but a suggestion, but that can come with time no biggie great work Megis Chest!

Kinda confusing

The idea is super cute I just find it a little confusing to play. The action buttons are far from where you have to cut the wood. I also don’t like the fonts as much because it doesn’t match with the games aesthetic but that is just personal preference. Overall it does have a lot of potential is just small things that can be improved

Exciting prospect, quickly disappointing

I was truly excited for this game. It looked really fun, the graphics are cute, and I like the music and environment. However - the controls are very clunky, and nothing is really explained well. In the beginning it’s mostly just collecting rocks and wood, then waiting for those nodes to respawn with literally nothing else to do. Your character walks agonizingly slow. Trying to fish is near impossible. I still have no idea how the fishing mechanic even works. Early combat in the dungeon is near impossible, with potions only giving you back a measly 2-3 health points at a time while the enemies and hazards are hitting you for like 7+ damage each hit. It’s difficult to earn money…quests be giving you like a 3 gold reward for planting 6 crops (where the seeds cost 1 gold apiece to buy!) and on top of that they also take FOREVER to grow. I just can’t get into this game and feel like I wasted money buying it. It’s a real shame because I actually wanted to like this game.

Repetitive & needs work

Cute concept but poorly executed. It’s very hard to read the display boxes in some parts as the font style is poorly chosen for mobile & too small, plus has typos and other mistakes (to the extent where it doesn’t seem the game has been proofed and checked properly prior to release). Game play itself is repetitive with a lot of slow walking back & forth, and not enough of a range of interactive elements. The controls are not very intuitive & clunky at times. I got bored very quickly. The game idea has some potential but I would save your money trying it out at this stage as it has a lot of work to go. I was disappointed by it & found gameplay annoying.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback! New update is now live, addressing some of the issues you mentioned: With many new upgrades and improvements, including completely new (larger) font, localisation fixes and a new relic system that can be used to increase movement speed by 40%. The game will keep improving and all community suggestions will be taken into consideration for future updates. I hope you will be able to enjoy the game more now, and in the future to come ❤️

Really fun

The only thing that irks me is the touch controls. Not intuitive but when you get used to it, it’s a great cozy game

Option for sound and music?

I don’t know if I’m just not seeing the audio options or if it just doesn’t exist. Kinda seems like the bare minimum. When I can actually play the game without music I’ll change my review.

Response from developer

Greetings traveler! You can toggle the music on and off in the settings tab, which you can open by clicking the Star icon at the top right of your UI, and then click the Settings icon. Please let me know if you found it or need additional assistance ❤️

Cute, and looking forward to updates and improvements:)

I downloaded this game just yesterday because the cute graphics and cozy looking gameplay caught my attention. I loaded her up last night and immediately noticed a couple things I would like to note on and maybe suggest would make good updates:
The first thing we see after character creation is a block of text welcoming us to megis island and giving us the run down on what we can do. Reading a lot of information on the get go feels like a chore, even if the story is cute and enticing. Maybe this text can be broken up into smaller snippets?
Next is, I noticed or was pointed toward some arrows on the ground. Once I passed these arrows I was kind of left wondering where to go. If the game is going for more of an open concept “choose your own adventure” I think that’s a great idea. However, I feel like there needs to be more hand holding - at least in the beginning. Just to get our footing on megis. I definitely could have been told exactly where to go in the beginning, but large blocks of texts feel like a chore and I can’t be the only one.
I know this game will continue to get updated and I really love the idea behind this game!! I will update as time goes on. Thank you to everyone who has worked on this game!

So much potential!

This game is adorable and I love that it is free of ads and IAPs. However the controls need a serious rework, it is very clunky. Switching tools, finding a tree or rock to click above, and then waiting 10 minutes for that resources to reappear or wander around the map for more is quite tedious.

I will keep this game downloaded and check back for future updates ❤️

Im in love with the graphics and the whole story line. So far so good!!!
