Profanity Necessary? Really?
The strong profanity would cause me to never suggest this app to preteens. Memrise confirmed to me that it’s intentional. There should be a setting for parents to disable that.
The app might be helpful only if used to supplement other language-learning apps or methods. By itself, it’s insufficient.
Many video clips have terrible audio quality because the speaker isn’t using a dedicated microphone. Very unprofessional.

Can’t use
So I wanted to learn Spanish and picked to use this app… But I tried selecting an new account, and then picking Spanish but I would just load forever
???
So, I’m planning to learn Russian. I’m an English speaker. I first download the app, I start to set myself up; first page is “what language do you want to learn?” Okay, typical. I select English (US), and the language list loads for at least 10 minutes. I have 3/4 bars, full wifi. I select Russian, and BOOM! Languages right away.
