I find this app very difficult to use. It is not intuitive.

I have to do so much work to understand how to use it. Google keep for instant is so much easier to use. Onenote is not at all intuitive. Sorry.

Lost 7+ years of notes

Lost all my notes after an update. Went to onedrive and everywhere. Couldn’t restore anything… dont use if you care about your notes.

Good

It’s like notes but better

This is the worst

This has ruined my life of teaching

Awesome

OneNote is intuitive, easy to use, robust, and a delight to work with! I find using this for all my projects, any upcoming event, events, or anything in general that I need a planning tool this works the best!

It’s alright

Lot of syncing issues and my images sometimes disappear permanently. I’ve tried to make my own manual backups but then I’ve not been able to load those correctly. Also, when I’m typing tom my laptop, the scroll bars start scrolling left and right and up and down. Microsoft creates mediocre products that have the potential to be great. Nothing new there. I still choose to use OneNote despite the fact it drives me insane!

Great Tool

This has been very useful as a space to jot ideas as they come into my mind. As some one who got lots of ideas and inspirations

OneNote is really good

It’s so good

Love this app

My go-to app for taking notes on all kind of miscellaneous ideas and things up I need to keep track of. I love being able to seamlessly share my notebooks on multiple platforms and devices: laptop, iPad, phone. I also like being able to link notes. Is it better than other apps? I don’t really know. All I can say is that it does the job for me.

Major drawbacks that keep it from a 5:
No back/forward navigating
No support for custom styles or ability to customize built in styles - this is a big annoyance

Perfect for portable files sync’d between multi β€”->

Update Aug 17 2026:
Thank you for the this update that again allowed the ability to sort alphabetically ( among other settings ) the pages in quick notes.
Now very easy to navigate.

I use with ,
iPad and IPhone ( and pc’s)with password enabled.
My file draw , in the Cloud .
Works very well for the purpose of portability sync’d among multi devices .
I rely on this app ( and the pc app) very heavily.
Thank you for the updates.

Broken and inoperable

Ever since moving to Windows 11 upgrade the Sticky Note/ OneNote program has significant issues performing normal functions to create basic notes without the cursor jumping around, skipping to the next line consistently uncommanded, the program stopping in the middle of note taking constantly every other word, and the list goes on and on. This was to the point where I had to stop using it. Tried every suggestion mentioned online to remedy the situation to no avail. Very poor response from the vendor on solutions or support. Very unfortunate!

Could be better

Needs a refresh

I use it daily., the premise is good. You’ve taken away my ability to host my notebooks on my workstations and forced the active notebook to be stored in the cloud. The result is the app is clunky and slow when you’re doing any volume work with it.

If you want this app to be anything more than a pretty toy, It’s time for a refresh and to fix the structure so it returns the performance.

Come on Microsoft, you’re better than this.

No longer working on iPad

Was working fine until recently. Now have error messages saying ONeNote can’t access the notebooks - they have been moved. Also can no longer sign in to one of accounts. This only happens on the iPad.
ONeNote is working/syncing without problems on the old MacBook and Windows computer.
I hope you can fix this soon.

Love it, a couple of tweaks could make it even better

I love OneNote. I use it a lot. Its functionality is awesome. A couple of tweaks could make it even better. Working with tables are janky. It’d be better to wrap text, adjust columns easier, etc - like Excel. It’s also not possible to edit a pic you paste in - like crop it. Despite a couple of small tweaks - I legitimately love this app.

No improvements

I'm not sure why I still subscribe. Microsoft shows no love for Mac or iOS apps. There are features that exist in the windows version that don't exist here. I used to love OneNote. Been using it since college. But now that I'm on Mac and ipad this is just a let down. Not to meantion there are other note apps that seem so much better. Innovation is gone in Microsoft software.

Doesn’t integrate well with new ipad OS

In split screen mode I can’t go back to my notes because the caret is covered by the IOS tab controls. Also 1 star because I keep being asked for reviews that I can’t turn off

Crashing + Terrible technical support

love the app but crashing. Additionally microsoft support is the worst!!!

Required to function

My entire work and personal life is on OneNote. No more paper, just productivity

Reveiw

It’s great for self organized notes.
