About

Middle Class Finance is a budgeting app that works without a bank connection. You enter your own transactions, so nothing is scraped, synced, or sold to a data broker. If you are looking for an alternative to YNAB or an alternative to EveryDollar, this covers the same ground: envelope budgeting, zero-based budgeting, 50/30/20, and a real debt payoff plan. There is no bank login at any point. BUDGET FOUR DIFFERENT WAYS - Traditional monthly budgets by category - 50/30/20 across needs, wants, and savings - Zero-based, where every dollar gets a job - Envelope budgeting, with transfers between envelopes - Progress bars per category, and unused amounts roll over to next month TRACK EVERY TRANSACTION - Log income and expenses with categories, payees, and tags - Split one transaction across several categories - Recurring transactions post your regular bills automatically - Mark transactions cleared and reconcile an account against its statement PAY OFF DEBT ON A PLAN - Add credit cards, loans, and a mortgage - Choose avalanche, snowball, or a custom order - See your projected debt-free date and how an extra payment moves it - Watch interest accrue against the real balance SAVINGS GOALS - Set a target amount and a deadline, then track progress - Emergency fund calculator sized from your actual monthly expenses - Link a goal to the account that holds the money ACCOUNTS AND NET WORTH - Checking, savings, credit cards, loans, and investment accounts - Net worth calculated with liabilities subtracted, not ignored - Balance history over time IMPORT WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE - CSV, OFX, QFX, and QBO statement files - Column mapping and duplicate detection before anything is saved - Useful for catching up on past months without retyping WHY MANUAL ENTRY Entering a purchase takes a few seconds and makes you notice it. Automatic sync does the opposite: the numbers arrive on their own and you stop reading them. Manual entry is the point of this app, not a missing feature. PRIVACY - No bank logins, no Plaid, no screen scraping - No ads and no advertising trackers - Your data is never sold or shared - Delete your account, and everything in it, from Settings at any time PRICING The web app at middleclassfinance.app is free, with every feature included. The mobile app includes a 30-day free trial, then $0.99 per month or $9.99 per year. One subscription unlocks everything. There are no tiers and no upsells. Reconciliation. Match an account against its statement and mark transactions cleared, so you can find the one that does not belong. Split transactions. Divide a single purchase across several categories. Recurring transactions. Regular bills post themselves on schedule. Sign in with Apple now works correctly on iPhone and iPad. It had been failing silently on native sign-in; it is fixed. Money amounts typed with a comma, such as 1,234.56, now save correctly. Previously they could save as 1.00.
