What's New in MindTime

1.6.1

September 4, 2026

A calmer home screen, sized to your phone. Home now measures the space it actually has and lays itself out accordingly. On taller phones that means a more open, generous screen — more room for the sound carousel, more breathing space above your setup — instead of the compact layout every phone used to get. Smaller phones still tighten up gracefully, but only when there genuinely isn't room. Your practice, read as days. Session history now shows the day a session happened rather than the time of day. Looking back reads as a record of your practice rather than a list of clock times, and the dates follow your language and region. In Insights, the consistency calendar now places every date under its real weekday, so the grid lines up with the week the way you actually read it — and your streak sits properly centred in its ring. A second icon on iPhone. There's now a softer, circular MindTime icon alongside the original. Switch to whichever suits your home screen better. Fixes throughout. Background audio no longer stops unexpectedly during silent sessions, and the playback notification stays the proper one instead of being replaced by a blank card. Subscription options no longer occasionally fail to load and leave the screen empty. Thank you for making MindTime part of your day. Find a quiet moment, take a breath, and begin.

my go to meditation timer

MindTime is my go-to meditation timer. I used other meditation apps for years, but eventually got tired of being constantly encouraged to use guided meditations, set goals, track progress, and so on. I understand that developers need to make money, but I would much rather pay a simple, low subscription fee and not be pestered.

MindTime does exactly what I need. It is simple, unobtrusive, and lets me meditate.

I have two small requests for future versions. First, I would love for the bell sounds to decay more naturally. When a meditation bell suddenly stops after four or five seconds, it is surprisingly noticeable. Other timers I have used allow the sound to fade naturally for 30 seconds or more, which is much less distracting.

Second, I'd love the ability to save and name different presets. Please keep that feature in mind as the app evolves.

Overall, this is the meditation timer I use every day. I appreciate the developer’s work and the simplicity of the app.

Response from developer

Thank you, this is exactly what I hoped someone would say. A timer that stays a timer, with no goals or streaks pushed at you, is the entire idea. And you're right about the bells stopping too abruptly, a real decay would sound far better. I've noted it for a future version.
