About

Money managed, beautifully. Minimal is a personal finance app for people who want to understand their money without wrestling with bloated finance software. Track spending, plan budgets, and watch your net worth — with no ads, no clutter, and nothing sold to advertisers. WHERE YOUR MONEY IS GOING Set a monthly budget by category and see your pace at a glance. A spending chart shows whether you're tracking ahead or behind with days still to go, and a category ring breaks the month down by where it actually went. Spending that no budget covers is called out on its own, so a month can't look healthy just because the categories you remembered to budget are fine. LOCK YOUR SPENDING Spending Lock is the part no budget app has managed before: it reaches you at the moment you're deciding. Choose the apps you shop in, and Minimal steps in before you buy — how much is left on that budget line, what that works out to in purchases, and how long it has to last. Nothing interrupts you while your spending is on track. You decide how firm it is: a gentle heads-up, a deliberate tap to continue, or no way past until you change the budget yourself. And your choice of apps stays private — iOS never tells Minimal which ones you picked. EVERY TRANSACTION, SORTED Import statements from your bank as CSV, OFX or QFX and Minimal categorizes them for you. Teach it once and it remembers — rules can even key off the amount, so a $4 coffee and a $40 dinner at the same place land in different categories. Transfers between your own accounts are detected and linked into one entry instead of double-counting. REPORTS THAT ANSWER A QUESTION Three views, each with its own job. Spending shows what you spent and on what. Cashflow shows money in, money out, and what's left. Compare puts any two periods side by side — totals, the categories that moved, and how your net changed. YOUR WHOLE WALLET Chequing, savings, credit cards and cash in one place, with your net worth on top. Set savings goals with a target date and see whether your current pace will actually get you there. FREE TO START • Unlimited transactions, categories and accounts • Bank statement import • Budgets, savings goals and reports • Encrypted cloud sync across your devices MINIMAL PRO • Automatic bank syncing, in the background • Spending Lock • Advanced report breakdowns • Data export Pro starts with a 14-day free trial. What's New in Minimal

2.0.1

August 24, 2026

Spending Lock — a new way to stick to your budget. Choose the apps you shop in, and Minimal steps in before you spend: how much is left on that budget line, what it works out to in purchases, and how long it has to last. Nothing interrupts you while your spending is on track. You decide how firm it is — a gentle heads-up, a deliberate tap to continue, or no way past until you change the budget yourself. Also in this update: • Fixed: transactions from linked banks weren't being auto-accepted, so they sat in your inbox and never reached your budget. If your spending has looked lower than it should, this was why — sorting your inbox will bring those in. • Linked banks now sync in the background, so your budget stays current. • A rebuilt first run: three screens that show what Minimal does, then a setup that gets your real numbers in rather than leaving you at zero. • The Budget tab's projection now follows the shape of your own spending instead of a straight line, and shows spending no budget covers. • Faster, clearer Activity and Reports, and a tidier Edit Budget.
