Potential for Improvement
Great with occasional bugs, I really like how it shows the size of the dynamic basal and auto correction bars based on the amount that was given as compared to the new MiniMed app, but it has potential for improvement:
1. There is a fall alert feature on the MiniMed app, which would be extremely useful for the 780G as well.
2. Being able to set the Volume, Sound, and Vibration settings based on the time of day would be extremely useful, currently I have remember to manually turn the sound off to keep it in vibrate mode during the day, and remember to turn the sound back on with maximum volume at night.
3. It would be really useful to be able to scroll back further than 24 hours, by selecting which day I’d like to view - seeing how my sugars were affected previously can be very helpful without having to generate the CareLink reports.
4. Begin able to adjust the time of how long a sensor communication must be lost for in order to get an alert would be a great feature as well, anywhere from 10-60 minutes range.
5. The Apple Watch application doesn’t always show the most recent sensor glucose, even if you open it. If it showed the last time that the value was updated as the new MiniMed app shows, it would make the Apple Watch app a lot more useful.
6. SmartGuard should be able to pull data from CareLink and be able to start much sooner than having to be in manual mode for 48+ hours - as far as I know, the data is already there, why do we have to start fresh if the data is current?
7. It would be really nice to be able to see my sensor glucose along with the trend arrow as a live activity.
8. Having to use the app to start the Instinct sensor is a downside - in my opinion, a huge benefit of the 780G is that you don’t have to rely on your phone.
9. It would be nice if it wasn’t a requirement to be signed in to CareLink to use the app.

Junk
Always loses connection never stays paired up very frustrating
Unusable
App doesn’t work on iPhone 17 pro max. Always crashes
Medtronic
Medtronic has really disappointed again
App releases unfinished features
This mobile app has its ups and downs. One minute they release great features like Apple Watch and widget support. Then they go and add an unfinished Reports feature in the CareLink menu. You get excited, tap the button, and then get slapped with a coming soon message. I mean, who does that! Just hide the button until it’s ready. Thankfully, they vastly improved the performance of the Apple Watch widgets.
In short, the app works well, but it makes you wonder why this app doesn't support more mobile features like Tandem or Abbott.

App down!!
My app has been down all morning
Leaving Medtronic
Having a mandatory app that doesn’t even work or connect appropriately is absolutely insane
My Health will suffer from your technical failures.
It is incredible—unbelievable—how much money Medtronics makes to have a system prone to so many issues.
I’m currently attempting to open the app and it continually crashes—won’t open at all, just a blue Medtronic loading screen until it returns to my Home Screen. Checked for updates, restarted my phone, will be spending a large chunk of my limited free time now on the phone with 24-hour helpline, and will hear minuets worth of legal jargon to protect themselves before they will attempt to help me fix the problem.
I am 1 hour away from needing to start a new Instinct sensor. The app is not functioning after several minutes of trouble shooting.
This app is absolutely essential in order to use the instinct sensors. I can’t see my numbers. I don’t have an entire back-up sensor system. So at BEST I’m now back in 20 years to getting one number every time I stick my finger. Hoping I’m gauging the trends right, and hoping I have a good enough supply of test strips until… the issue is resolved? Until I have a chance to sit on the phone for a half hour? Until Medtronics starts to care as much about customer health as they do money.
This is absolutely unacceptable, and truly a shame. There must be some kind of system in place with zero-failure to connect new instinct sensors to the insulin pump.

Impossible wait times and unreliable app
My pump stopped connecting to my phone. The directions on how to reconnect aren’t working on my phone. I called the help desk yesterday and waited on the phone for over 5 hours and still no contact. I finally hung up to go to bed. I have had Minimed pumps for 22 years and have loved the help desk. But now I can’t even get in, let alone talk to someone. Did they fire all those amazing people?

Battery drain
I am not sure why but over the last couple weeks the app is draining the battery on my iPhone 14 Pro. Over the last week it has been the top battery usage item. I have not had issues before and am providing the review to hopefully inform someone at Medtronic and see if others have the same issue. Other than that the app works as intended.

Add to widget
I cant add the glucose record to the widget screen , the app is great 🌹
Doesn’t work
It won’t let me open the app
Can’t connect to anything
Currently having the worst headache ever. I can’t connect to my pump or any CGM(Instinct or Medtronic ). I can’t get through to customer support. Average wait is at least an hour. I have no cams working. Back to sticking my fingers! UGH
Terrible update
This update is worse than before. I’ve unpaired, paired, cleared Bluetooth cache, re-paired Bluetooth, turned phone off, restarted phone, uninstalled app, everything. It will pair for a few hours then back to square one.
Not working
Crashes upon opening app.
FIX YOUR APP
Unable to connect to my pump and based off other reviews seems like it’s a common problem, this needs to be fixed as it’s important medical equipment
Connectivity Issues
After having the app for a bout a year or two, it just randomly stopped connecting to my pump. I’ve reinstalled it at least ten times, updated the app and reinstalled it and no changes at all. So disappointed and a major inconvenience.
Horrible
I just need to know why I see everything the update supposed to do but crash each time you try to open will not connect to watch or phone or maybe want even open and close on its own. Then I seen another review wanting us the user to call a 1800 number and thinking why should I when I can just change The Who pump system

New Version No Longer Pairs
I updated to this version because the app message said to update as soon as possible to fix “connectivity issues”. Big mistake!
This newest update is no longer able to pair my pump with my iPhone. It broke the pairing connectivity, as I cannot get past the app pairing screen.
Before today, the iPhone app was working fine as a secondary display.
Checking the web app does show that before today it’s only known problem was not uploading caresync data since 4/9/26.

MiniMed Mobile & the Future
I’ve used the MiniMed Mobile US phone app and watch app since they became available. I especially appreciate daily auto upload to CareLink. Looking forward to MiniMed Flex. Don’t hold us in suspense! When does it hit the shelves?
