Creating a username error
No matter how you do it, an error comes up everytime when attempting to create your mitID which makes you have to restart and do the scanning and photo all over and over and over and over again with the same error comes up, and you can’t even take a screenshot to show you the unnamed error. Tried multiple different usernames as per the instructions but nothing works.

App Refuses to Work
I’ve tried over ten times to get set up. App refuses to read my passport’s chip, then sends me through the same exact process that I’ve already done again, just to end up denying the whole thing. Claiming my face doesn’t match the picture on my Passport. Sure, whatever. Went to the website to look for FAQ, no help there. Horrible app.

Absolutely horrendous for EU passports
Each time I’ve tried to use the app to log in, at the exact point of scanning eu passport it crashes not once not twice but several times. This needs fixing asap if you want to this to be a universal tool for all citizens in Denmark
Doesn’t work
I’ve tried scanning my face over 20 times now. It’s ridiculous that it doesn’t work in any setting and doesn’t allow back camera use for scanning. Setting it up through this app is a waste of time. Wish I could give a 0 star review
Awful
The instructions are incredibly unclear and it keeps rejecting my facial scans. Which makes so sense since I used facial scans and my passport to travel just a month ago, why does this app have such strict and mysterious parameters for their facial scans? Why can’t you redo your facial scans without restarting the entire passport scanning processes?? After 10 failed attempts i just had to give up and home I never need to access digital mail. Anyways why not make the instructions for photos clearer and give individual clear feedback on why photos are getting rejected

Doesn’t work on key flow
Should be pretty easy, right? WRONG, when I try to scan my passport it crashes, mind you this isn’t an edge case, it’s part of the main flow, every foreign citizen who tried this problem experienced the same issue, tried to register and had to go to a citizen center. Why would you even advertise that you can do this online, when a basic function crashes the app. Just remove it at this point, say go to the citizen center and don’t waste your time trying to use this app

Buggy mess
This buggy mess of an app is a perfect example for any dev how to NOT do an app. Has there been any QA testing whatsoever or you just published first available version by your intern? Dealing with this every time is a pain!

Mit ID er bare ikke vær noget som helst, man skal brug det til at log på de mest irrelevante og det er absolut umuligt at skifte det fra en gammel telefon til en ny. Man må udover det også kun hav mit id på en telefon så hvis man ikke har den med sig hele tiden er det bare uheldigt

so many steps and none of them work. passport chip won’t read, face scanner won’t work, this is the most stupid joke of an app i’ve ever seen. i just need to get some important health information and im jumping through ridiculous hoops with this nonsensical dysfunctional terrible app. wish i could give it 0 stars i am beyond frustrated.

Can’t scan face!!!!
I’ve been trying to activate the app on my new phone. Keeps crashing when I need to scan my face. It’s 2025, how can this be so bad. I have no access to any banking or anything else because the app is not working.
Could you please contact me as I’m desperate to make it work. I live in Australia and can’t do anything before this works. I’ve been trying for two weeks now on 5 different phones, nothing is working. You’ve got 11k 1 star reviews on google and only 1 star reviews on apple. Maybe it’s time to do something active! Like helping me in this matter

The app thinks that my iPhone is jailbroken, which I assume is because of the new iPhone version.
Crash when scanning ID
The app crashes when I try to scan the ID on iOS 26
It's alright but one thing stuck out.
I was setting up MitID for the first time. All was well, nicely designed. Simple and intuitive, plenty of instructions and examples. After completing every step, scanning the chip of my passport and scanning my face, it then tells me there was an error reading the chip on my passport. So it switch to a slightly different looking verification screen where i did the exact same stuff but this time it went through fine.
It's just odd that it told me the chip did not read well after it already scanned the chip, i completed another step afterwards and only the it tells me the chip did not read properly.

Utter, absolute joke.
Agree with other reviewers: completely useless. The real shame is that, for us who spent years in DK, we still need access to things like e-boks but without access to the mit-id system, we’re shut out. Tak for denne gang lille Danmark!
