Not very good at the driving coach feature. If you approach a red light, and it turns green, you will get dinged for a traffic signal unless you stop a green lights.
Also, all Bluetooth features on my phone fail to function properly until I went in my settings and hit forget this device!! Now I can make phone calls from Bluetooth again… and AirPlay works now too
This app needs too much work. Going back to DriveCam again.

Cell service required
Changed the way it connects to my phone now it is constantly stuck in driving mode when I stop in a low cell signal area - sucks now
Terrible service
Motive was once a decent app. Then someone decided to remove the countdown clock from the screen so a driver has no idea how close they’re getting to a violation by glancing at the screen. Now a driver has to take the time and the distraction to keep up with it on a completely different device. It’s not good customer service and it’s a poor quality app from this regard.

Sucks so hard
Constantly disconnects I go to change my status after driving four hours and it still shows that I’ve been on duty the entire time. One of the worse HOS apps I’ve ever had to use.
The worst ELD app there is
Unbelievable unreliable will not stay connected when you turn off the engine. Disconnect while driving. The pre-trip category is like you rebuilding a truck. You have to put your truck number in every time it gets disconnected or when you log out and have to log back in although we drive the same truck every day. It’s just not a good investment for anybody nevertheless the trucking industry. I cannot give it any stars unless it’s minus stars.

Does not support multi-connection Bluetooth.
The Motive ELD program does not support Bluetooth multi-connection. When the ELD device is connected to an IOS device, the ELD connection will constantly cause the other connected devices to disconnect and reconnect on a loop. Even when the ELD is “forgotten” from the connected device list, the ELD will still try and brute force connect to the iOS device, disrupting all other Bluetooth connections. Tech team is aware of the situation but don’t care to rectify the problem.

Fix it, please!
There is a so-called "sandwich" button, I have to press it thousand times before it actually triggers the action, which is very annoying. The artificial intelligence often behaves stupidly. To be fair, (this is the third electronic logbook I’ve used since they became mandatory and) none of them have worked well. But this one is the first to use AI, and it infuriates me that the AI has the authority to judge people.

Battery hungry
Garbage app.
Even with Background App Refresh turned off, if you don’t force close the app, it drains your phone’s battery. I’ve had my battery drop from 70% to 30% overnight just because the app was left open.
It also doesn’t properly support Canadian sleeper berth rules. It incorrectly shows drivers as being in violation when they are fully compliant. That’s a major issue for anyone operating under Canadian Hours of Service regulations.

Bluetooth nightmare
DONT BUY THIS FOR YOUR FLEET! It disconnects from your headset, even during calls. Your camera will yell at you if you don’t leave the app running in the background of your phone every 10 minutes. Sometimes you get stuck and drive mode and can’t change your status. Overall, this is the worst ELD I’ve had so far. I’ve contemplated leaving my job because of it.

As if it’s a soul contract
I used Motive for a few years and loved it, I had a super great representative always calling and checking in on what I needed. Then unfortunate circumstances had arrived with out 1 truck company and we went out of business shortly after renewing a 1 year subscription. They will hound you every week day like a blood thirsty vampire for payment. Most professional companies will simply say sorry to hear your situation and end the contract, they refuse to understand anything other than $$$. Up until our loss of everything and the company they would have been 5 Star review

Obviously the response wasn’t well understood, I enjoyed Motive until the lack of understanding that a client that no longer uses or has funding for subscription can’t pay so emailing and calling with hanging up upon answering is rather over the top for a simple subscription that could be cancelled. So greedy it’s unfortunate to have moral business conduct is such a way.

Motive Connector
I actually bought a new phone to fix my connectivity issues. It worked in the sense that my phone connected to my logbook. All I have to do every morning is forget the device and then re-pair. I’m lucky, I get to do it through out the day too. Unfortunately it has only been going on for a little over 6 months. I’d rather screw with my logs than drive.

Never stable
This ELD should definitely be flagged by fmcsa to be permanently removed from being able operate it’s never stable and constantly having to keep uninstalling and reinstalling to get my logs to work properly it’s very frustrating
New update sucks
New update makes it so your drive time gets eaten up even when at a standstill, which should be on duty hrs being eaten no drive time. Then gives you a notification “after 5 minutes it will switch to on duty” but also eat those 5 minutes of drive time.Fix this problem !!!

Terrible update
This easily the worst update they’ve made yet, and that’s saying something. Both drive and cycle clocks are being burnt up because of latest update. After going idle for 5 mins it switches to on duty which it always has. The difference is now that 5 mins you sit continuously stays on drive time instead of reverting back to the moment you stopped. It is also struggling to come off the driveline at all.
I’m going to urge the carrier I’m leased to to shop other options. Motive since changing over from keep trucking has progressively gotten worse.

Very dumb imbedded AI, I stopped on a official build by state Rest Area parking area and this stup AI marked as unsafe parking. And no way to argue, thanks Good it meters nothing for my job position.
The routers should be obsolete!
They need to get rid of the router the connection from the phone to the obd for the truck should not have a junk processor attached.
