Best MPD Client for the iOS/Mac Ecosystem

I’ve tried every MPD client out there, from the terminal, to web-based, to cross-platform, to others written in swift and purportedly Apple-native. MPD Pilot is better than all of them for my use case of setting up an old iPad as a single-app controller. It has every feature I need, plus an excellent local playback feature, with experimental snapcast support. Free version works great but I’m also quite happy to support the dev for their excellent work!

Was nice until they got greedy

I have used this app back when it was free. I have a few mpd servers so the multi account was a really nice feature. I understand the need to make money and they moved to a pay app. Which was fine. I could control what I had set up. Now I see they have locked out all my setups accept the one I was using the most. So now if I want to control another server I had already setup in this app it is now locked out as a premium feature. You could have at least let people use it as it was setup That would have been nice.

Thank you for the feedback. We understand why this was frustrating. During the transition to the premium model, previously configured multi-server setups remained usable for some time, but that access was part of a temporary transition rather than a permanent unlock. We understand that losing access later could feel like something you already had was taken away, and we appreciate you sharing that perspective.

Need more job

Nice design and functionality but I had to install 3 times before I could connect to my server. Ive just installed it on my wife’s iphone but I can’t connect to the mpd server as usual. Yes I have disabled the firewall but no success….

Almost There

So far it seems like almost everything works as expected, however I cannot get the local playback from an http stream to work. It connects fine but there’s no audio or option to choose output.

So a great app for controlling mpd but I’ll need something else to listen to it

Доделайте пожалуйста!

Добавьте сортировку по артистам, названию песен, альбому в очереди. Добавьте рейтинги в виде звездочек. Почему нельзя выбрать несколько треков сразу из плейлиста и добавить их? (Например «выбрать» и «выбрать все»)

Осторожно Аудиореклама!!!

После очередного обновления, аффтор этой програмулины решил внедрить аудиорекламу которая проигрывается в середине прослушиваемого вами трека(если включено прослушивание на телефоне).
Ну чтож аффтор лови кол, заслужил.

Ruined by ads

This app used to be the best mpd client on iOS, but a recent update added obnoxious audio ads that interrupt songs. I understand that the developers need to make money but there are ways to do ads that do not interrupt the audio stream (especially not halfway through a song). This app is basically unusable now unless you are willing to pay for a subscription.

Best MPD Controller by far

I’ve used a few of these MPD controllers, and this is the best I’ve found…. so far. Work’s brilliantly on my old iPhone 8.

The best choice for MPD

The app can be used for free and actually I have not met any bugs yet.
Design is fashionable and all the necessary functions are involved.

This is a very good and useful app. I have had a lot of problem looking for a suitable app to play music on my Chord Mojo/Poly combo. This solves all the problem. My hats off to the developers.

Having queue management problems

I’ve started having queue problems, like I select “replace queue and play” but it doesn’t clear the queue. Sometimes I have to manually clear the queue before I can play something else. Was working fine a year ago, it unusable now. Not sure if problem is MPD Pilot or my MPD server.
