What's New in MTG Compendium

2.17.0

July 19, 2026

Patch Notes from the Planar Bridge Precon Browsing — Smoother Scrying through preconstructed decks has never felt better. A cleaner, faster browse so you can find your next brew without the mulligan. Precon Comparison — Sharper Put two precons in the arena and compare them blow for blow. Spot the stronger build before you commit a single mana. Card Search — Now Reading the Stack Type mv:3 pow:4 tou:4 t:elf right into the search bar and let it resolve like a trigger — full Scryfall-style query syntax, no separate advanced-search screen needed. Sign In & Sync (Pro) Compendium Pro members can now sign in with Apple, Google, or email to keep decks, collection, and game history in sync across every device. Accounts are optional — everything still works exactly the same without one. Smarter Upgrade Suggestions Mox's card-swap suggestions come with clearer reasoning this patch, and undo now actually clears the slate instead of leaving stale suggestions on the battlefield. Mox Deck Builder — Refined The build-and-refine conversation got a tune-up: tighter change summaries every time Mox reworks your list, so you always know what changed and why. Deck Builder — More Under the Hood Set your budget and preferred format once in your profile, and the deck builder starts from there automatically — plus better awareness of land count and platform for every build. Deck Lists — Sorted by Card Type Your decks now break down into card types — Creatures, Instants, Sorceries, Artifacts, Enchantments, Lands — so browsing your 99 is as easy as fetching a basic. Commander Discovery — Now for Everyone Scout the format from inside the app: browse popular commanders, open real EDHREC decklists with full card art, and tap any card straight through to its details. Wishlist — Reforged Your wishlist got a glow-up: a cleaner look, live price tracking on every card you're chasing, and a faster path from "one day" to "in my binder". Bug Fixes & Improvements A few under-the-hood tweaks to keep your library in top form. Untap, upkeep, draw. Thanks for playing. — The Compendium Team

Super Awesome Tool

I just found this and I am surprised at the features the app has. The bulk scan is nice to add all of your cards to your collection and it works really well. The idea of AI giving insights to your decks is smart.

Two things I wish was better, the card valuation tool gets a little messed up because it automatically assumes I have a rarer version of a card than I actually do and there is no way to select the card I do have. Not a big deal though.

The other, I would like there to be a way to export a list of the cards I have.

Thanks so much for this app!

Needs Improvement in Small Areas

Love the way it’s laid out and how you can choose deck style, get suggestions, build a deck, etc. This could be awesome. But there are small things that just become tedious and annoying.
1. I can’t bulk add cards. I have to go in to add a card, search it, scroll down to it, and then add it. Doing that process repeatedly sucks.
2. An extension of the previous point; I wish I could choose more than one type of card within one search. Having to reapply the same filters time and time again isn’t seamless.
3. Any time I minimize the app, it kicks me out of the search I was doing. I have to reapply filters and find the card I was looking for again.

Response from developer

Hey, thank you for the detailed feedback! The points you've raised are things I want to sort properly. Would you be up for dropping me an email at apps.backflip.media@gmail.com? Would love to get a bit more detail so I can make sure I'm fixing the right things. Cheers!

Latest version

Lots of new capability. And all works well and as expected.

Good app

the mox game log works well

Has glitches

When I scan a card and want to add it to my library it asks which set the card came from. When I select the correct set it suddenly changes to a different set and my set is no longer in the list.

Response from developer

Thanks for flagging this, and sorry you ran into it. The set-selection switching bug should be resolved in the newest version. Could you update the app and retry the scan? If the set still disappears, please message us with the card name + the set you selected, and we’ll investigate right away.
