Highly recommended
My First Nest Egg is a great app for kids learning about money. It’s easy to understand, engaging, and helps teach saving and smart choices in a fun, age-appropriate way. A fantastic tool for building healthy money habits early.
So helpful!
First, they are helpful if you have a technical issue. They responded within 24 hours and solved it within 48!
Second, the app works well for me because we struggle with a chore list/weekly allowance concept.
My First Nest Egg helps me connect how chores can simultaneously be a requirement of living and also a source of earning money.
It adds extrinsic motivation without destroying existing intrinsic motivation.
It supports the ideas of save/spend/give buckets, which we will build on when discussing budgets.
We are more spontaneous, so chore lists don’t work for us (for example, some days, my kid sets the table while other days, they have too much homework.)
The app gives us flexibility to earn when there’s time and intention.
It also grants control to the child—allowing them to give themself credit for their work when they remember/feel they went above and beyond/have a financial goal.
And it allows me to reward them spontaneously as well—like an earned bonus at a job.

love this free app
I needed a way to motivate my kids to do their chores and keep track of what I owe them. This app is magic. My kids love the puzzles and I love that they are starting to understand how money works. Also it's free - and founded by moms. Win/Win.
It takes thought but it works
I was ready to say it’s a fail , but had my epiphany. Odd numbers work with thought. You can add an extra task, like “say thank you” to your 5 day chore to make it a 6 piece puzzle. (Wash dishes x5, smile x1) I eventually used the pieces as a checklist to make sure the chore is done correctly. Wash the car becomes (soap, rinse, scrub tires, dry glass) 4 pieces. The flexible chore option lets you assign a chore to both children, so they can choose extra chores. So far setup is good.

Great app love it😍😍😍♥️♥️♥️❗️❗️❗️
Once I started using this app, I need so much money. It’s a great way to track how much money you have because you just looked there. Click on an app open it up and you see how much money you have if you flush your teeth then you push many timesyour parents can see your house if they know you didn’t do something. Once you did a chore you can click. I did that one time and your parent will put a puzzle piece on your puzzle. If you get all the puzzle pieces then you can you will get money super helpful getting so much money and super easy to use.

App doesn’t load
It worked fine for a couple of weeks then app stopped loading any data , have been trying to use it from past couple of days, but nothing all I get is a blank screen
Brilliant concept, very effective, but needs some tweaks
I started using this app with my 8-year-old daughter, and I think the idea of completing chore puzzles and daily educational challenges is brilliant. It's perfect for younger kids who are just starting to learn about staying on schedule and doing chores. I’m genuinely excited about where this app could go. I’d be happy to pay for a subscription if few improvements are made. Those are my frustrations: 1. The Login Frustration: Every time I close the app, it logs me out, and I have to sign back in again, wasting my time. Thankfully, this doesn’t happen on my daughter’s device. 2. Editing Puzzle: Right now, if I make a typo or want to change the image on a puzzle, there’s no way to edit it. I know they’re working on it, but it’d be super helpful to have this feature soon. 3. Endless Confirmations: After I approve her puzzle pieces, my daughter still has to click to accept every single piece. Why? She already knows she requested them, so it feels like a lot of unnecessary clicking (it feels like the app "has a stroke"). Accepting just the final completed puzzle on her side would make much more sense and would also serve a purpose—it shows her how much money she earned by completing it. 4. Routine Chores: It would be amazing if I could set daily chore puzzles that just stick at the top of her list instead of having to duplicate them every single day (where they end up at the bottom of the chore list). It’d save me so much time and effort for me! 5. Kid-Friendly Visuals: The stock photos for the puzzles aren’t very fun for kids, and I’d rather use cute illustrations. Yes, we can upload our own, but I’d love not to have to! Maybe bringing in an illustrator could give the app a more fun, kid-friendly look. 6. Leaderboard & Avatar Issues: My daughter doesn’t get the leaderboard because she doesn’t know where she is relative to other kids, so she doesn’t see any reason to look at it. Plus, she was upset when she picked an avatar she doesn’t like and found out she can’t change it. 7. Daily Challenge: I think the daily challenge is a fantastic feature, but the questions are really easy, and there's only one per day. Expanding this feature to add more challenges, maybe even some games that teach finance, would be amazing.

Can’t back up or close tutorials
Update: Their team contacted me and are working on it. Eager to see the changes.
….
You need to have a back button to reselect when you select the wrong option during setup. And there needs to be a way to escape out of the tutorials. There arent any close buttons. It’s extremely frustrating.

A virtual piggy bank BUT BETTER!
My 90s piggy bank did not teach me how to save or donate, let alone teach good money habits! This isn’t just an app to make it easy to give an allowance to your kids or encourage chores actually getting done! This is teaching them financial literacy at an age where it will become second nature to them as they get older and as parents we know how incredibly valuable that is! 10/10 recommend!

Recommend for both Kid and Parents
Fantastic app for teaching kids financial responsibility, with engaging lessons and interactive tools that make learning about money fun. The intuitive design and supportive features make it a must-have for parents looking to instill good financial habits early!
User-Friendly and Effective
First Nest Egg is so easy to use. I love how I can set up multiple savings goals and track my progress. It’s helped me save more than I ever thought possible.
Very Educational
MY FIRST NEST EGG is a great tool for financial education. My kids are learning so much about saving and spending wisely. The only downside is that it can be a bit slow at times.
*"Engaging and Effective, but Some Bugs"*
A wonderful app for teaching children about money management. The concept is great, and the app is engaging and educational. My son enjoys the games and has learned a lot about saving and budgeting. However, we have encountered a few bugs, such as the app freezing occasionally. Despite these minor issues, the app is still very effective and has helped my son develop better financial habits. I hope the developers address these bugs in future updates. Overall, it’s a fantastic educational tool that I would recommend to other parents.

"Great Concept!"
The concept is great. It’s an excellent way to teach kids about money management. The only improvement I’d suggest is more customization options for rewards.
Great App, Minor Glitches
This app is fantastic for teaching children about savings and finance. However, we’ve encountered a few minor glitches. Despite that, it’s still very useful and educational.
Very Helpful but Needs More Features
MY FIRST NEST EGG is a very helpful app for teaching kids about money management. My kids enjoy the games and have learned a lot about saving and budgeting. The app is easy to use and has a good reward system. However, I wish there were more customization options for rewards and more interactive features. Despite this, the app is still very effective and educational. It has helped my kids develop better financial habits and understand the value of money. I would recommend it to other parents looking for a fun and educational financial app for their kids.

My daughter loves the puzzles
My daughter is finally doing her chores and homework without complaining. It’s amazing. She loves to earn her screen time.
Great for littles
How did someone not think of this puzzle idea before?? Chore charts are boring. Chore puzzles are fun.
Favorite tool for chores
I’ve tried so many apps for household management. Most were so manual that I gave up. Love this app so much. The chore puzzles are so easy to use. All 3 of my kids love it. My oldest is 14 and she loves it too! Any small habit we are trying to enforce gets popped into this app.
The bank of dad
I am constantly paying and charging my kids for chores and purchases, but it was so hard to keep track. And my kids always remembered the money I owed them, but never the money they owed me. This app solved that problem for us. Easy to use, great customer service, and motivates my kids to actually be helpful.
