About
When a migraine attack hits, explaining what’s happening to someone else can be one of the hardest parts of the whole experience. Speech can be difficult. Light and noise are unbearable. And bystanders, however well-meaning, often don’t know what to do. My Migraine Card puts the explanation on your screen instead of your voice, ready in seconds, in your language or theirs.
i built this because migraine attacks don’t wait for a good moment. They arrive at work, on trains, in the middle of a shift, and the person nearby usually has no frame of reference for what they’re seeing. A simple, dignified card does what words often can’t in that moment.
WHAT’S INSIDE
• Five ready-made cards covering Attack, Aura, Severe, and Recovery, plus a fully Custom card for anything specific to you
• On-device translation, powered by Apple’s Translation framework, so your card works abroad without your data ever leaving your phone
• Read-aloud in one tap, speaking whichever language is currently on screen
• Designate an emergency contact from your existing contacts and call them in one tap if things become serious
• Choose your own “main” card, so the app always opens exactly where you need it
• Home Screen widgets that update automatically to match your active cards
• Hide or reorder cards so the app reflects your own experience of migraine, not a generic one
Every default card is written and checked to be read in five to ten seconds, because that’s often all the time or focus you have. Your Custom card stays entirely private and in your own words.
Not every disability is visible. My Migraine Card exists to make yours a little easier to explain, so you can spend less energy on words and more on getting through it.
