Doesn’t Work
If I could give it 0 stars, I would. The apps interface is horrible and outdated, it takes forever to startup, and provides three canned responses to any issues you have without resolving anything- it’s actually only two answers considering it prompts you to change the batteries two different ways (i.e. “Click and hold okay for 3 seconds to enter discovery mode on your remote”, “change the batteries”, and my personal favorite “ensure you have fresh batteries”). I’m in a never ending loop of trying to reconnect my smart remote to my iPhone.
I develop & design UX/UI professionally and this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with an app. To whomever is in charge… It’s 2026, connect Claude to your codebase let it cook.
Selling this “not so smart” remote after I buy a Vizio OEM remote. The best part of this app will be deleting it.

A chat based system that's very slow, allows zero configuration options and barely works isn't what should be used for this
Couldn’t program remote
It initially found my remote but when I actually tried to program it, it said it couldn’t connect. Only thing that saved the remote was learning from another one. Very disappointed.
Not able add tv when setting up the remote
Brought smart streamer app detected the remote but then to add tv it keep saying trouble communicating to device. Very disappointed. Even after paying good money to buy this product the user experience is so so bad.
There is no way
There’s absolutely no way this app has a 4.8 rating. No way. The app and the bs remote are trash.
Go elsewhere
App doesn’t work, manual setup doesn’t work, customer support doesn’t work. Might be worst purchase I have ever made
Small print
Other than th fact that I needed a magnifying glass to read the instructions on the small print, the set up was pretty easy.
Garbage
The app is garbage. The remote is garbage. Can’t delete any previous pairings. Can’t select previous pairings to delete them. When I try to add an app it keeps asking if I want comcast or Sony tv. Can’t reset the remote . Do not buy this remote until they get someone that can design an app. No one wants to talk to the fake ai to do things. At least an “ai” this bad

Like Butter!
Very smooth setup. Includes a video, printed instructions and guided step by step. Took about 2 minutes and done. Would purchase again.
What?
What’s with all the device identifier and everything else and tracking everything in my home? Why would I even want this thing then?
Unreliable
Used the remote for about a week. Constantly having problems issues after the first day. Buttons do not work consistently. Power button won’t tune the tv on, so what few buttons that do work only work when the tv is on. For this price point of $60 I would had expected a better product. The app doesn’t indicate that anything is wrong and basically useless for troubleshooting. This app is going to be removed from my phone and the universal remote returned for a refund.

App doesn’t work
Doesn’t sync to my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Requires app to use. Bad on-boarding experience.
No options at all
All I got constantly was an AI generated error message with no details whatsoever. This is one of the least polished apps I have ever had the displeasure of using and I will be sure to tell my customers to steer away from this brand at all costs.
App doesn’t open
Piece of junk app stop opening out of nowhere. Now my $60 remote is junk
I thought it wasn’t working and it was a terrible app that doesn’t work but…

Won’t open
The app opened once. Now it just sits on a black screen with white boxes on the bottom. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it multiple times. I tried on 3 different iPhones. All iOS 15 or iOS 26. It doesn’t load on any phones! Please fix!
Doesn’t connect
After trying all the troubleshooting and contacting customer support (and getting no response or any help) I am returning this remote. Completely useless. The app doesn’t work most of the time and when it does the remote doesn’t connect.

This is my first time ever reviewing an app, but it had to be done because of how abhorrent my experience has been trying to make this work. The customer service is non-existent. I have had nothing but problems trying to set up this “Smart Control pro tv remote”, and my efforts have been to absolutely no avail. This app is effectively useless, nothing but constant “could not connect. Let’s try again!” in an endless, frustrating cycle. I reached out to customer service and have gotten no response whatsoever. It is 2025, there is no reason to make a TV remote this darn complicated, I just wanted a replacement for my Bravia 8, and was recommended this one in Best Buy… I could not recommend this experience less

Worst way to program a remote
I have used many universal remotes and this by far has the worst programming interface ever. It’s slow. It’s tedious. The chat interface works for simple use cases but seriously - programming a remote? A guided wizard would be much better. There is a process and steps that need done. It needs an expert mode where I can actually go do what I know needs done other that mindlessly wade through chat prompt after chat prompt. Such a terrible idea.
