I Hate JTA
Terrible worst bus transportation in Florida period. Buses never on time or never show up. Don’t believe the reviews on the app it’s A.I.
My Senior Lifeline!
After living in North Carolina for 10 years, I moved back to Jacksonville 14 months ago. When I first arrived, I was so appalled at Florida’s auto insurance rates (7 times higher than my exact policy with the same company in North Carolina) that I immediately sold my car and have been riding Ubers and buses ever since.
After downloading the very useful JTA app, I was delighted to learn that seniors ride free! At age 75, riding free has been a godsend — especially given today’s high inflation rates and the unconscionably high cost of food while living on a fixed income.
Today, a JTA driver I know only as Derrance made my day. He’s one of those good vibe people who can bring a smile to your face just by looking at you. While taking me up and down San Jose Boulevard on the 17 bus, Derrance proved to be a thoughtful and courteous individual who also drew praise from two of my fellow passengers. JTA is fortunate to have such a driver in its midst!

What happened to your app?
You used to be able to choose what time you want to leave what time you want to arrive? Where is that function. It’s Sunday. I don’t wanna ride that bus. I wanna ride a different bus on Monday and I’m not able to find that out through your app. Whatever you did to update this app didn’t work well.
Great ride on the #28 with CeeCee

On June 4, 2026, I had a really great experience on the #28 bus leaving St Johns Town Center going to San Jose Blvd. I don't ride the bus often and CeeCee did several things right to help make my ride successful! CeeCee could tell I was a "rookie" and helped me with scanning my ticket which was giving me trouble. CeeCee was also very patient in helping me know exactly what stop to get off at to avoid having to walk on a sidewalk under road construction. I wish my previous ride experience had been half a good as my ride with her! 10 out 10! Makes me want to use the bus more often. Thank you CeeCee! Great smile and great laugh! Well done!! - Dean

Worst bus service In America route constantly cancel have you waiting over an hour and bus don’t arrive when location service is used it lies to you saying it’s coming then boom another hour wait.

A bus should not have a time to wait if it’s not going to be in service when it makes it to the said stop!

March 6, 2026 around 12:50 PM – Route #18 (Atlantic/Monument)
The bus driver stopped at a stop and stayed on the phone for about 12 minutes, delaying the route. I use the myJTA app, so I knew when the stop time had passed. My sister and I let him know it was time to continue, but he ignored us.
After we started moving, he yelled at me from the front of the bus to turn my phone down/off. I didn’t know that was a rule, but I still turned it down. When I asked why, he didn’t explain and continued yelling instead of calmly explaining the policy.
I rely on JTA transportation daily, so delays and being yelled at by drivers is very frustrating. I hope this can be addressed so riders are treated respectfully.

Bus drivers not paying attention

Great Service
JTA does an amazing job. Jacksonville is the biggest city in the US and they find a way to connect us to all corners of the City. JTA keeps Jacksonville running!
Good app, good service, good price
Even before the price reduction JTA was always a good option to get around the largest city in america. Now thanks to the price reduction I can get around much more affordably and will likely be using JTA a lot more.
Unscheduled breaks
AM Driver makes a stop every morning for a smoke break and stops again a few minutes later for a bathroom break.

You know these buses are horrible or should I say the drivers or most of them expecially the 19, 23 to be exact. They skip stops they don’t show up . Me and my girlfriend literally sat at a stop for two to 3 hours waiting on the 19and 23 . Then this morning at 10:31 the guy driving the 11 want to be rude saying no open cans on the bus but it was empty and I was just trying to throw it away so I didn’t have to throw it on the ground cuz there was no trash can around outside except for on the bus I could not even do that because he would not let me on till I got rid of it and I’m a paying customer. Then when these drivers get something said to them about how late or rude they get they try to kick u off and be rude back so unprofessional it’s not even funny . This stuff right here is exactly why people don’t like to ride the bus because they have to deal with rude employees who are unprofessional. Now I am on bus 2606 and I’m getting called racist by another customer who is African American that’s behind my wife in a wheelchair because I got upset because ur driver is making my wife who is in a wheelchair pay to ride but yet I ride the buses all day and anyone else in a wheelchair does not pay but as soon as we get on it’s a problem and then when I get upset about it I get called racist because I’m white or Hispanic and ur driver agrees with it how is it fair that all the other people in the wheelchairs around us don’t have to pay but my self and my wife who is in a wheelchair does and then gets called racist because I’m white
