Avoid
I purchased top tier plan to make sure I can see video history. Video history sporadically works. Whenever I need it, videos are never there and I have to reboot camera to make it work. There is no number to call for support. Help via app also was useless.
Awful
Do you like paying $300 for a device that relies on the worst app ever? This is the one for you. If you aren’t paying the monthly subscription you’ll find it is unstable, it crashes, you can’t turn the camera on or off reliably, and more.

My wife and I wanted something we could trust to keep an eye on our daughter while she slept, and this has exceeded every expectation. The video quality is crystal clear and the app is easy to navigate. Whether she’s in the bassinet or crib, we can check on her from anywhere. The notifications are reliable, the connection has been rock solid, and the setup only took a few minutes.

Camera and alarms work very well
Would be great if one could automate the create memories part so that the camera takes the pictures automatically given preset intervalls and then creates an automated slide show.

We’ve had a great experience with the Nanit. The video quality is excellent, and it’s so reassuring to be able to check in on our little one anytime. Onboarding experience stinks
Good luck trying to onboard to this app as a grandparent. I work in tech and attempted 4-5 times. Kept putting me in a loop to setup name the once setup said no devices. I’m done!

This camera and app is so great! Being able to capture all the happenings on video, allowed me to download my babies first real smile. Core memory downloaded and saved forever! Also loved the activity tracking in our first few weeks home.
Glitchy app
Almost every time I try to access the app, I get a toast message saying “Getting video stream” that hangs indefinitely with no stream appearing.

Insights are awful
I’ve used nanit for both of my kids so far. The main reason I bought this camera is for the breath monitoring, and this part of the system works very well. It’s really nice to have the peace of mind with a newborn.
The reason Nanit has lost its stars for me is because the insights have been wrong literally every single night since using the camera with my second born. It will almost be a year since he was born, and if he gets up even once in the middle of the night, it treats that as his wake up time. So if he wakes at 2 am, it logs it as his wake up time and throws everything off. I’ve adjusted setting but nothing makes a difference. It’s not an essential part of the system, but it’s very frustrating that it doesn’t work, especially since I am paying for it
