There are lots of negative reviews but the app works fine. It is nice to have everything consolidated into one app.

Decent app; Ignore the troll reviews

Still in its early stages, but seems to function well. Just ignore the troll reviews, although they’re kind of entertaining.

It always logs me out. I don’t like. Interrupts my learning. Buy less promethean boards and buy remind again. Thank you Dan. I love byler #mamdani

Had better software back in my days on my nigtendo 31

Ts was ported from the Nintendo 64. runs about one frame per sometimes. Do not recommend. Use carrier pigeons instead atp.

Forced on students when not everyone can install it

Students are expected to download this by their teachers, but some students don’t have phones, don’t like to keep them charged and have them around all the time, or use or might want to use a Linux phone in the future, which this app doesn’t support. Or, they have an Android, but use a degoogled version like GrapheneOS, and don’t want to install the Google Play Store to avoid proprietary software. Or, they don’t trust this app on their phone because the Apple App Store says it tracks some of your info and identifies it to you, and the developers lie about it not tracking users on the Google Play Store.
Even for the students who have a supported phone and are willing to install it, having reminder apps is a bad idea because inevitably some student will miss a notification because their battery’s dead or they just didn’t check their phone, causing trouble and confusion between them and their teacher. If there were no reminder apps, every student would be on the same page even when the teacher misses something in class, so they could work it out together the next day and it would be simple since the teacher knows nobody got what they wanted to say and don’t have to just hope every student got their message like they do with remind apps. Plus, it’s annoying to have to keep your phone charged and nearby to make sure you see notifications, and especially annoying when you’re doing something and you get a notification that says you need to go back and fix something on an assignment since the teacher missed a direction in class.
Reminder apps used to not exist, and school worked fine. Lets go back to that and not make it difficult for kids who don’t have a supported phone to do school.
If teachers want, they could use a reminder app to repeat info they already gave their students, which is what one of my previous teachers did, and it worked great for me who didn’t want the app, and also helped some other students remember their assignments and deadlines, but giving information only through a reminder app expecting everyone to see it is a problem.
