Media from comments are displayed as links by default
I'm hoping there's an option to turn this off, as it's very irritating having to click an extra time whenever someone posts an image in the comments, but so far I've looked through the whole settings page and nothing seems to be there.
Other than that, the gesture customisations are missing reply to post, meaning you have to click the three dots or the reply button instead of being able to swipe

Very Short Trial period, No longer works without an account
The app is fairly useless and a worse experience than the official reddit app. Not worth 4$ a month to not get ads. The UI is less intuitive.

Probably the best option on iOS, but still not amazing.
Better than the official app for seeing posts that are actually current instead of ones that are days old but have been elevated by Reddit’s algorithm.

The BEST way to access Reddit
I’ve been using Narwhal for just about as long as it’s been available. It’s always been a superior Reddit interface. It’s highly customizable and NO ads. The Reddit app is unusable now because of how locked down it is. They spoon feed you everything and so many ads! None of that here. Because Reddit charges for API calls, you have to pay a subscription but it is 100% the most worthwhile subscription I pay for. The dev team is responsive and truly wants to make the best user experience possible. Not only is it a great way to access Reddit but is also truly one of the best designed independent iOS apps.

The utility of Narwhal's editing tools paired with it's browsing capabilities streamline all engagements on Reddit.
I really wanted to like this app
I really appreciate that they have a free trial, and the app looks cool overall. But I tried for 20 minutes to get it set up, and just found the settings to be really confusing and tedious. The comment sections under posts ended up just looking like walls of texts so I was trying to figure out how to show people’s avatars. I also found it difficult to find my notifications. So just decided to give up on this app, but I really wanted to like it.

Wanted to love it
Card -> condense is apparently no longer a thing. Can’t hang with this density. Spent 30 min looking at options. Am I missing something?

Every time I open the app, it pauses my music. This is so irritating and it’s been a bug for longer than I can remember.
Great App Be Warned Though
Reddit won't allow third party apps to update like the regular app. So no, you won't see a refreshed home page. Plan on every hour or two before refreshing. Blame Reddit for that.

Album scrolling
Crazy that the terrible reddit website manages to support horizontal scrolling of album pictures without opening a post and this app defaults to just hiding the post. What lovely usability

Needs Gallery View Mode
I need a replacement for the official app that has a media-only gallery view mode for subreddits. Narwhal interface isn’t different enough from the official app imo.
It makes Reddit fun again
Yeah you have to pay for it but it actually makes Reddit fun to use again. It’s hard to explain but the default Reddit client l feels like its guiding you to how Reddit wants you to use Reddit. Mostly to farm up more engagement. Narwhal doesn’t do that at all, in fact it lets you tune it for exactly how you want to use Reddit. What a concept.
