No Integration

Horrible app with no integrations. I have to setup separate accounts and register vehicles in both ? Can’t look at my accounts on the app so jump over to your desktop and log into the other account. Terrible! Should learn from the bank apps.

Doesn’t Work

This is the worst app I’ve ever installed. The design is hideous, it’s half broken, nothing is intuitive and it doesn’t even work! I set my HOV status an hour before a trip, confirmed it was on and I still wound up with $20 in tolls being charged to my account. What a joke.

Lowest bidder Garbage

Why do I have to create a new account when I necessarily have a Quick Pass account? And no social sign in either just stupid password and recovery requirements. The UI looks like a PowerPoint and nothing is sized right on anything bigger than an iPhone 5.

This lowest bidder scam of a contractor and the dumb state procurement officer who wrote the bid both fired.

If I could I’d give negative stars

It’s really that bad. Horrible UI, FaceID never works, and app constantly “forgets” passwords, requiring a password reset.

It is actually that bad. Still.

After reading all the other horrible reviews from three years ago I thought surely it must be better, but it is not.

Everything from signing up to using is clunky! For example the security questions are too long to be displayed from the drop downs and you have to guess the end of the question. Then your answers are case sensitive. The developers can’t parse a phone number to remove special characters and when you don’t, the error message is a generic “check all fields for correct data entry.” I know these are details, but this is what separates a good app from this garbage.

FAQ

What does the NC Quick Pass HOV app do?

This enables them to travel in express lanes for free when they have three or more occupants in their vehicle. It is specifically for use on the I-77 Express Lanes in North Carolina.

How do I use the HOV status feature?

Once registered with the app and linked to your NC Quick Pass transponder, you can declare HOV status for an immediate trip or schedule it for a future trip. You can also extend or cancel active HOV status declarations. All declarations or changes must be made at least 15 minutes before entering the express lanes.

Yes, the NC Quick Pass HOV mobile application is free to download and use. However, you must have an active NC Quick Pass transponder account in good standing to utilize its features for express lane access.

What are the requirements to use this app?

To use the app, you need an active NC Quick Pass transponder account, a properly installed transponder in your vehicle, and a registered NC Quick Pass HOV app account. You can register up to five transponders and license plates per account. The app is currently only for NC Quick Pass customers in North Carolina.

Can I manage my NC Quick Pass account with this app?

No, this app is strictly for managing your HOV status declarations for express lane travel. It is not for managing your overall NC Quick Pass transponder account, such as adding funds or viewing general toll charges. You will need to use the separate NC Quick Pass website for account management.
