What's New in NestEgg

1.4.0

September 3, 2026

Editing an expense no longer commits as you type. Tapping + opens an empty line item and nothing joins your plan until you press Save, so backing out of one leaves nothing behind. Save and Remove stay pinned to the bottom of the sheet however long the form gets, and the category you added the item under is the category it keeps — it no longer re-files itself while you type the name. Categories are yours to manage. Name one when you add it instead of living with "New category", rename any of them, and delete a custom one. If it still holds spending you choose what happens to it: move those items to Other and keep the money in your plan, or delete them along with the category. Every sheet in the app is solid now rather than translucent, and you can drag one down to dismiss it. Keep swiping past the top of a long form and it closes. The keyboard no longer pushes a tall sheet off the top of the screen, so the field you're filling in and the button that saves it both stay where you can reach them. An hourly rate keeps its cents. $28.75 an hour stays $28.75 instead of rounding to $29 and quietly changing the salary it derives. Fixes: the household split no longer counts a once-a-year bonus toward your monthly take-home — that figure now matches the one Income & Taxes shows for the same paycheck — and its comparison bars give each person's share as a percentage as well as an amount. The FIRE year is one number everywhere: Today, the milestone timeline, the Plan tab, Retirement and Projections all read the year your assets actually reach your number, instead of some of them reading the date you've planned to stop working.
