About

Most retirement calculators ask for three numbers and hand you a year. That's not a plan, that's a guess. NestEgg is a retirement planner and early retirement calculator that models the mechanics actually deciding whether you make it: your real return after inflation, the tax treatment of every account you draw from, and how much Social Security at 62 versus 70 changes the number you need. WHAT'S IN IT Your FIRE number, five ways — Traditional, Lean, Coast, Barista and Fat. Financial independence means something different at $40k a year than at $150k, and the app doesn't pretend otherwise. Your retirement age, not just your number. A year-by-year projection to age 95 in today's dollars, with your target drawn on the chart, the crossing year marked, and a depletion warning if the money runs out first. Withdrawal strategies. Fixed inflation-adjusted spending, percent-of-portfolio, or guardrails that trim 10% after bad stretches and take a raise after good ones. Income that isn't your portfolio. Social Security at any claim age, pensions, rental income, part-time work. Coast FIRE math falls apart if you skip this. Tax drag. Traditional, Roth and taxable modelled separately, with long-term capital gains treatment, RMDs, Roth conversion ladders and an early-retirement healthcare (ACA) bridge. Built on current IRS and SSA figures — brackets, standard deduction, 401(k) and Roth IRA limits, the wage base — updated each year. Scenario comparison. Save as many what-ifs as you like and put them next to each other. "What if we moved somewhere cheaper" is a real question with a real answer. Plan with a partner. Two incomes, two retirement ages, one shared date. YOUR DATA No ads, ever, and your figures are never sold or shared. Start with no sign-up at all — explore as a guest and attach an account later only if you want your plan to sync across your devices. You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings, instantly. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO It doesn't connect to your bank or track your spending. It's not a budgeting app and there are good ones already. NestEgg answers one question: when can you stop working, and what has to be true for that to hold. It doesn't run Monte Carlo simulations. Projections use a steady real return you pick — conservative, balanced or optimistic — so you can see the mechanics rather than a probability you can't interrogate. It's also not financial advice. It's a model, and every model is wrong about something. Use it to think, not to decide. NESTEGG PRO $1.99/month, cancel anytime — or $19.99 once, yours forever. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. A monthly subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and can be managed in your App Store account settings. What's New in NestEgg

1.1.0

August 11, 2026

FIRE Path is now NestEgg — same app, same plan, new name. Setup is faster. It is a handful of taps instead of a form now: pick the range that sounds like you and NestEgg builds the plan, then shows your FIRE number and the year you could stop working. Assumptions are free for everyone. Real return, inflation, safe withdrawal rate and state tax are no longer part of the paid version. Every number on your dashboard is computed through them, so you should be able to disagree with them. Your employer 401(k) match counts now. Setup asks whether you get one, and the dashboard reflects it instead of assuming you contribute nothing. Also in this release: the setup summary and the Today tab agree on every figure, the contribution-gap breakdown adds up and names the year it is measured against, and a priority action that used to open an empty screen now opens the bridge planner.
