The Newport Mansions
While the Breakers, Marble House have elevators for the elderly and handicapped, the Elms do not have this available to the public- this is totally unacceptable in this day and age! Are you all being compliant with the laws concerning handicap access? I would suggest you add this feature to not deny anyone access to these beautiful buildings and their history ASAP. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter!

Lovely and magnificent. Bathrooms needed on all floors for paying guests.
If you use the restroom before you are finished the tour, you cannot goback and see what you missed. This is wrong and inconsiderate, especially given the number of older, mobilitu impaired adult guests.

Fascinating
Kudos to the Preservation Society of Newport County for maintaining this incredible home. The audio tour was great and the staff were all friendly. Well worth a visit to this iconic American palace.
Wonderful tool for touring the mansions
I found this a very effective tool for touring the ‘cottages’ at Newport. The tours are well-structured; the guidance for moving is clear; there is very good information about each stop on the tour, with particular attention to the things you are actually seeing. I also really liked the approach of having extra material relevant to each room in an easily accessible drop-down section. And, as a fan of The Guilded Age on HBO, I liked that some of those options gave behind the scenes discussion about filming that series, discretely set aside just for those of us who want it.

Newport Mansions
Spent several mornings & early afternoons visiting these beautiful Guilded Age cottages. Don't miss the free self guided audio tours! My husband and I were transported to another time and way of life.
The docents were knowledge about the collections and surrounding areas. Please take the time to see at least (4) of the homes to be able to appreciate the depth and bredth of architectural styles in this living collection of historic homes.
We spent the late afternoon & evenings trying restaurants, shops and antique stores.

Superbly Done Audio Tours
I found the wealth of very interesting information and history to perfect. Enough to teach the history without overwhelming you, but if you want more information there is an additional selection to hear more details and listen to the stories.
The Best Audio Tour I have ever used. Loved everything about the audio tour in the most beautiful homes ever built..I highly recommend seeing The Mansions of Newport.
