Won’t load stories most of the time
Have a new phone so it’s not an equipment issue. Love this app but am getting frustrated with the inconsistent content loading issues.

No longer works
Please fix the app. Keeps saying I have to “verify my session”, then takes me the online version of Newser.
Bigotry being platformed and on-tap at Newser in the Comments sections for every story.
The Newser app crashes over and over. Some days it doesn’t work all day, then it’ll work again, then it will break again for a day… wash, rinse, repeat.
Also, it’s becoming apparent that many stories are now being churned out using AI.
Also, the comments sections for the stories are completely overrun with poorly-spelled, obnoxious, ignorant, racist, christian-nationalistic, misogynistic and homophobic creeps who don’t contribute anything to a conversation. These commenters are solely writing things to offend/upset people.
And Newser admins do absolutely nothing about it, even when those users are reported… which is a form of supporting such behavior. Platforming soccer-hooligan-style “own the libtards” commentary makes Newser complicit. Sure, they want clicks, and outrage spawns clicks… But come on, Newser. Ban people who are breaking your own rules of engagement, please. It’s sad and vile and greedy, and you should be better than that.
For real objective news, I am now using BBC and C-SPAN. Newser is part of the problem. Too bad… it was a convenient format. Goodbye, Newser.

Unable to open anymore due to multiple crashes. App reinstalled without improvement. I guess this app has gone the way of the Dodo.
App has stopped working
I have been a Newser fan for years. Even the ads haven’t been as much as a put off to me as other users. But inexplicably the app has stopped working. Says I have to authenticate the internet? And no solutions seem to help. I’m bummed. I really liked the Newser format.
App is broken
Used to be great. Then got ads… then got lots of AI written slop… but I kept using it. Now the app is completely non-functional.

This is a tip for the iPad app(iPad Air in my case). The iPhone app doesn’t have this problem.
I have been using the iPad app and every time after I finished reading an article I would click what I thought was the back button at the top left of the app, but it was taking me to the top of the news list not to where I had scrolled down to in the news list. This for me was very annoying as I had to re-scroll all the way down to where I was in the news list which sometimes required a lot of scrolling and then I had to keep doing this after every article…super annoying. So, if you’re having this problem then read on.
Here’s the tip that will make using this iPad app a lot less frustrating:
On each article page located at the top left there is a “back arrow” button AND also a “Newser” button. They don’t really look like buttons but they are and they look something like this:

So just click the back arrow button and you’ll go back to where you left off in the news list or click the Newser button and it will take you to the top of the list. Easy enough when you realize they are two different buttons. Also, I found out that you can back swipe(start on left side and swipe toward the right) and it will also take you to your last place in the news list. I hope this helps.

And that’s because both buttons(or maybe it’s just one big button) on the iPhone app takes you back to where you last were in the news article list. It’s a slight but meaningful difference between the two apps that I think should be standardized to the iPhone app method.
I upgrade my star rating to 5 stars but suggest to Newser that they standardize the apps based on the iPhone method as I believe it would result in a lot less frustration for the iPad app users. Personally, I almost uninstalled the iPad app because I was so frustrated.

iPad app has annoying bug, please fix.
I have been the using and enjoying the Newser app for many years. However, the iPad app used on my iPad Air will not hold its place in the news stories list after reading a story. After I read a story and click the back button, it takes me back to the top of the news stories list and I have to scroll down and keep scrolling down and keep scrolling down to get to where I was. Basically it’s so annoying that I don’t want to use the app any more.
The app does appear to work correctly on my iPhone and on their website so please fix the iPad app!

Used to be good
Love the content. But lately the app has been inexplicably crashing on a regular basis. I deleted the app and downloaded it again. But it’s still happening on the regular. PLEASE FIX THIS GLITCH!!! Otherwise I will stop recommending this app to friends and family.
Ads!! Everywhere!
Great idea. Terrible execution. The ads are everywhere and you try to click them out and it takes you to the website. I don’t mind them trying to monetize their work but geez, there has to be a better way that doesn’t ruin the entire thing.
App keeps crashing
While reading Newser stories, you cannot highlight any words on the story without the app completely crashing. If you even accidentally touch the screen and the cursor appears or highlights a word, the app crashes. PLEASE fix this! Thank you.

Fix the app, new IOS, means you have work you do.
Newser is not as concise as it used to be
Newser has historically presented very concise by size capsules of news, summarize to know more than two paragraphs. But lately their articles are getting longer without adding anything of value. it is losing its value proposition and distinguishing characteristic.
Love the content, hate the app
Great news summaries, but the app is borderline unusable. It hangs up, skips ahead, skips back and sometimes just shuts down. According to the App Store it hasn’t been updated in six years.
tired of this app turning off my music
the app can be glitchy but overall, its fine - my biggest issue is whenever im scrolling on it at work, it turns off my music i play in my business so i'm constantly checking to make sure the music is playing when im on little breaks. im assuming its from the ads but im not sure - its really annoying & i basically cant use the app when im working.

Excellent news curation
Best roundup of news stories from any single news source that I’ve used. The app experience itself could use some work/modernization.
Is it even supported anymore?
Performance nightmare. To open the app, tap the icon…go do something else for 2 hours…come back and see if the app is open yet.
