Sounds weird now and no way to regenerate a new waveform.
5.1.1 sounds different than it used to. It makes noise that doesn’t seem to correspond with the hz.
Also, the waveform used to regenerate reset after any change but now it doesn’t, which would be good but there’s no way to regenerate it. They need to add a regenerate button.

Another update gone wrong
Used this to let people know what Tinnitus sounded like. Now it’s far too complicated so deleted as I could not find my Tinnitis frequency anymore.
Wow… what happened to this app???
never thought I’d write a review like this. Noise GEN is many people’s go-to every single day. Great for blocking out background noise to focus on studying, for sleep, or fine-tune specific sound colors for sensory relief, this app was an incredible, lightweight piece of audio software. It felt like it was built by people who genuinely understood sound and cared about its users.
Then came the most recent update, and it completely ruined everything that made this app special.
First, the underlying noise generator itself is broken now. the frequencies aren't being portrayed or synthesized accurately anymore, resulting in loud, sharp, and harsh noise profiles instead of proper frequencies. every range sounds like white noise now.
On top of that, changing the frequency slider from an exponential scale to a linear scale is a devastating UI downgrade. Frequencies and human hearing don't work linearly. Switching to a linear slider completely destroys the precision control over lower and mid-range frequencies, making accurate adjustment virtually impossible. they even removed the stereo balance control entirely. stripping away a basic, essential feature for anyone who needs spatial adjustment or targeted sound tuning.
To top it all off, the app has been bloated with ads. they now physically clutter the lower bar of the app.
It breaks my heart to see a tool that was once crafted with technical care stripped down and monetized at the expense of functionality. Until the audio engine is fixed, the exponential slider is restored, and the ads are removed, I unfortunately can't recommend this app to anyone anymore. Goodbye, Noise GEN.

Good while it lasted
The latest update broke this app. The high pass filter is messed up now, and seems to be letting through frequencies way above what it’s set to. What used to be a soft, low rumble is now a sharp, hissing assault on my ears. It’s an obvious night and day difference between the two versions, using the same saved preset. Changing the volume also seems to change the high pass frequency too, which makes no sense. Overall just a really sloppy lack of QA testing. I can’t get it to sound right after 10 minutes of fiddling with the sliders, so now I have the joy of looking for a replacement at midnight while I’m traveling. I guess nothing good lasts forever. Word of advice to the devs: If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.

Something changed
Something changed in the latest update. Volume control no longer works and it hangs my phone. Ads are more instrusive too. Deleting asap.
