Avoid at all costs
Probably the worst app I’ve ever used. Very temperamental works well 10% of times. Hasn’t been updated in two years. NOMA doesn’t care about customers feedback.
Glitchy at best
Constantly have to reinstall the app and re pair with hub, otherwise lights are dark.
Too complicated.
Yah I’m not rearranging my Wifi network to be on a different hertz. Second what should I have to buy a hub when your first generation didn’t require it? And third the GUI on this is horrible.
Needs an update!!!!
These worked the first years I bought them, 2019 and 2020. Then Noma appears to abandon us. I have SEVERAL strings of lights which cost me close to $1,000 and even basic functions no longer work. Cannot change themes. Wifi is 3 feet from the lights and has full strength with a mesh system. Noma has no excuses left. They havent even updated security of the app to protect it from hacks in over a year. Negligence!

Needs major updates
1st, the lights go out on sync VERY easily, and it’s impossible to re-synchronize them once the lights are hung. 2nd, it would be nice if you could allow each lighting group to be put on more than one timer. I would like my lights to turn on in the evening, turn off during the night, then on again in the early mornings when we’re awake.
Also, update the app for more lightshows. There’s only 4 prebuilt lightshows. Give us more options!

Timers don’t work
Timers don’t work consistently at all. So what’s the point if I have to turn them off and on manually every night
Pretty bad.
The app connects to the devices when it feels like it. You can try to change the themes, but once again, when you click to apply it, it’ll work… sometimes.
Oh, and make sure the decorations are close to the hub. They say up to 40 feet away - no way!

Doesn’t connect second year
Disappointed because declining all the time and now doesn’t seem to connect at all. This is only the second year.
Needs more functionality
Second year using this app with my lights and I was hoping for some feature updates. Would be nice to create my own light show for my lights.
iPhone 16 won’t work
Please update your app, I can’t use it on my new phone, now I can’t sell my old phone because it’s the only way I can get it to work
Garbage app
I have had nothing but issues with Noma since getting a Christmas ornament and hub. My deer never works and the only way to make it work is to repair it. Except now my hub can’t even find it 😒 I’m so annoyed for the cost of it all.
Frustration doesn’t even describe it
This is the second year I’m using these lights and it’s absolutely impossible to manage with this app. Every time there is a power outage, I lose everything and the hub/phone/lights won’t reconnect. I have a full smart home with products of all brands and this is by far the worst.

After failure with 1.0, I figured 2.0 would have better results. It won’t find the hub, after all trouble shooting, nothing. The app is a horrible user experience, the error message doesn't make sense. It says to make sure hub is turned on and connected through the app to my wifi - yet nowhere do I connect it to my wifi. It doesn’t specify a dual path router and 2.4 wifi - even with these technical requirements - nothing. Save a couple hundred dollars and get something that works.

Absolutely useless
Will not find lights to pair. Simply can’t use. Noma should be embarrassed.

Very poor
This app won’t discover the noma advanced Christmas smart hub. I’ve tried changing routers redownloading the app, trying a new hub and it won’t work. Canadian tire needs to get on Gemmy about fixing things. It worked fine the previous two seasons I’ve had it. Now it won’t. If I could give 0 stars I would.

App needs work
This app is horrible and it looks like they’ve stopped work on it entirely. I realize Canadian Tire doesn’t own the app, but they should be insisting that Gemmy fixes and maintains it given they still sell the Noma smart lights.
The RGB settings are completely wrong in get app and as another user pointed out there is no way to select any of the calibrated preset colours.

Horrible lights
These are the worst lights I have owned. Rarely connects to the app and when it does I have to open and close the app a few times first. I have 2 strands together and they are supposed to be grouped to turn on and off together. Never works. I have to go unplug them when I want them off which defeats the purpose of smart lights. One single bulb also randomly turns on at various hours of the day.
