I always count on Norton Genie

Worry not !

I’m 75 & I get worried when I receive some messages as to whether they’re a scam or not. This app is marvellous for helping with that sort of thing.

It’s great

I really like this ai app and it’s good for not buying anything from a scam website because it detects scams all u gotta do is send it an image but only one thing u gotta check out is for example a site like eBay is mostly legitimate but could be a scam from third sellers or what not when it sees the logo it says it’s not a scam but it’s good other than that

Easy to use, but subpar in most other areas

It's easy to use, and bonus points for not requiring account registration, but frankly the results are not as accurate, and not as descriptive as what I get from uploading the same screenshot to any LLM chat app.

The information in the responses is vague and high-level. For example, when I uploaded a screenshot of a phishing email claiming I had initiated a crypto transfer to a listed wallet address, the app just said "Potential Scam" and "Claims there is a problem with your account to trick you into xyz..."

The response from Claude for the same screenshot was more thorough and higher confidence. It even pointed out that the wallet address in the email was a dead giveaway because it wasn't a possible address given the characters and combination.

Not a bad tool but its so easy to get a better assessment nowadays.

Being able to take a screen shot of a suspicious text or email & have Genie check it out, really makes me feel safer!
