I always count on Norton Genie

Worry not !

Iโ€™m 75 & I get worried when I receive some messages as to whether theyโ€™re a scam or not. This app is marvellous for helping with that sort of thing.

Itโ€™s great

I really like this ai app and itโ€™s good for not buying anything from a scam website because it detects scams all u gotta do is send it an image but only one thing u gotta check out is for example a site like eBay is mostly legitimate but could be a scam from third sellers or what not when it sees the logo it says itโ€™s not a scam but itโ€™s good other than that

Easy to use, but subpar in most other areas

It's easy to use, and bonus points for not requiring account registration, but frankly the results are not as accurate, and not as descriptive as what I get from uploading the same screenshot to any LLM chat app.

The information in the responses is vague and high-level. For example, when I uploaded a screenshot of a phishing email claiming I had initiated a crypto transfer to a listed wallet address, the app just said "Potential Scam" and "Claims there is a problem with your account to trick you into xyz..."

The response from Claude for the same screenshot was more thorough and higher confidence. It even pointed out that the wallet address in the email was a dead giveaway because it wasn't a possible address given the characters and combination.

Not a bad tool but its so easy to get a better assessment nowadays.

Norton Genie is Great!

Being able to take a screen shot of a suspicious text or email & have Genie check it out, really makes me feel safer!

iPad Landscape Mode

I downloaded this App on iPad and the pages are not in Landscape mode. Very disappointing as this makes it very difficult iPad with Magic Keyboard.

The only reason

Iโ€™m just saying

Does not work

Upload various texts and emails, some legit some suspicious. The app could not read any of them at all.

Norton Genie

It appears to me that this app is always undecided as to its answer. Itโ€™s always could be a possible potential scam might be a scam two different times you can tell me the first time it was a scam and the second time it wasnโ€™t so I donโ€™t trust it one bit.

Norton 360

This product is amazing

(AI) now its personal

Nortons great hopefully they will add extra features for competitive reasons so much is going on with AI nowadays since other companies are looking forward with this app

It relies on your input. Itโ€™s not a security guard.

Itโ€™s a tool for on demand analysis, not a passive, real-time spam filter. It does not have the ability to automatically read your incoming text messages the moment they arrive.

Waist of time

I had faith at first.. but then I thought i would test it.. input known scammers pictures.. no flags raised, input ai generated pics no flags, input text from ai bot known to be involved in romance scams, several times and not once was any flag raised.. input basic, well known scam text messages found using google.. not one flag raisedโ€ฆ what this app is actually doing is unknown. But it is not protecting anyone from anything.

Works great when not sure. ๐Ÿ‘

No updates 10 months

The Genie never finds anything wrong with anything. I have it search. It always says inconclusive. What good is everything if itโ€™s inconclusive. Sorry the app is just almost not worth my time.

Good generally

I agree with a previous review in that this app will generally give you a good indication whether what youโ€™re investigating is a scam or not. However I still do additional checks on the website/phone number and trust pilot then compare results before making a final decision.

Fix Orientation

Please fix the app so it can be used in landscape mode on an iPad. A lot of people use the iPad in landscape mode.

Norton Genie

With so many scam attempts out there, it eases my mind to have Norton Genie! A valuable tool!
