Working again, again!
- they seem to have solved the camera import issue. Very impressed they replied to previous review. I have reached out to the developers a few times over many years and always got a useful response. I hope it continues to wear the crown.
Spoke too soon. The issue is that using the pdf import from camera stops you exiting the note and doing anything else. If you exit the camera import screen it works. Sigh. Recent update made it unworkable, crashing on import of scans etc. update today - now works. The hiatus made me look for alternatives and I think the vanilla iOS notes app might be enough now. This app has to be bulletproof - I run my business from it.
They replied “Thank you for the candid feedback. The change you describe was deliberate, and we hear that it made things worse for you. We read every review, and this one goes to the team that owns that part of the app. If you want to make the case for bringing it back, the best place is our public ideas board, where the whole team sees it and other people can vote for it”

Stupid Forced Integrations
See title. Very dumb I was forced to integrate with calendar to sign in. Horrible design flaw.
PDF Export and layer order is broken, but excellent ruler for ring template
I use Notability for precise template work so I can cut rings. The ruler is one of the best features in the app and accurate enough that I can actually rely on it for that.
Two problems are getting in the way:
PDF export / download has become unreliable. I need a clean PDF so I can print the work. Lately that step fails or is hard to complete, which makes the notes almost unusable for their real purpose.
There is also no clear way to rearrange layers. Pieces that used to sit in the background suddenly jump to the front and cover work I already placed. That ruins the design and forces a lot of extra cleanup.
Please restore reliable PDF export and add obvious layer controls (send backward, bring forward, send to back). The ruler already makes this app worth using. Fix those two things and it would be excellent for detailed template work.

Offloading is so frustrating!!
I really love Notability. I've been using this app for over five years and I have around ~1000 files. That being said I have sufficient storage, so it's immensely frustrating to still have to wait over 10 minutes every time I use the app to access my files. Sometimes even 20 mins. I really do not want to defer to another app but this is making the experience so hard

Best Notes App Ever
I’ve been using Notability since high school so I can attest that this is the greatest noted taking app there is! From handwring to text to images it has it all! The templates make it easier to sort out notes for class and keep everything organized. But it also helps me make calendars to plan out events or simply a digital journal I can access easily and anywhere.
