Data storytelling at its best!

Essential Radio

If you follow events of the day and enjoy smart objective reporting, then NPR is your station.

NPR as an organization is great but any app that requires an account is trash and gets one star

The Best Unbiased News

Thorough, boldly even-handed, fresh … THE best unbiased American radio news.

truth

always a breath of fresh air

Freezes/crashes regularly

Annoying to navigate, always resetting to front page when you might’ve been listening to something from your followed podcast list or your queue. Regularly freezes and crashes so it’s difficult to listen for more than a few minutes at a time because you have to keep restarting. NPR stories and shows are great, but this app is garbage.

My go to

I moved into a condo and have had to switch to listening on my iPad instead of my trusty IPR radios
Your voices start my day. Even, thoughtful and steady.

A real piece of America

I've been listening to NPR my entire life from being driven to school as a young child to driving to work and home as an almost 60-year-old man. I listen to NPR every day Support your local NPR station because our federal government refuses to and because it serves this nation faithfully. It's up to We The People to keep it alive and healthy

Please make local news page stay in app

Good app. Use it to listen to the radio and some pods which it does really well. All national stories are easy to read. I just wish the local stories were as well! I cannot stand how clicking a local news link opens a web browser page. So many apps have solved this by opening the browser in the app, not forcing me to leave the app. Please solve the functionality! Other that that pretty solid app

Saturday morning is better with Scott Simon

Love love love Scott Simon. And his writers on the Mr. Roger’s Detroit Tiger’s catcher (once again!) story made me smile and laugh and cheer.

I want news not podcasts!

What has happened to NPR? Over the last two years, I listen less and less. Maybe it is because management has no backbone, or maybe your curated information bores me. I miss the wonderful reporting and stories of the old, liberal NPR!

Notyourdude

Crashes. Slow starting. Hangs on ads between stories. Gets worse with every update. Please simplify it and make it work and make it better!

Can’t find shows

I’m listening to something in my car. I want to continue listening to it, but I can’t find it in this application. It’s difficult to find different subjects that you might want to listen

Very calm presence.

Has been a very calm presence in my early life and now getting back to it.

NPR

I highly value NPR as a dependable source of unbiased news and information. I like is my primary source of news information.

Fast talkers

Too fast. Talking too fast. Cannot understand anything.

NPR

Love NPR

App loses what you listen to repeatedly every time you navigate off of it.

I love NPR, and I listen every morning. I would think that if I listen to the same local station without fail every day, this app would “remember” so it’s easy to start without searching for it every single morning. Alas, I have to type in my local station every morning.
Also, if I pause the station at any point, 9 out of 10 times I have to reopen the app, find my station I was JUST listening to again in order to continue listening to it. This is despite it still being open with a “play” button on my locked Home Screen.
Not great, NPR app! It still love you though, and I’ll still be annoyed and listen to you religiously.
