NEVER LOADS

This app never loads, you have to delete it from your phone and redownload it only to be able to use it then have to repeat the process again the next day. Might as well port your number out.

Extremely unstable

Worst app I’ve ever used. I have to constantly reload it to make it work. It fails to send texts and won’t allow me to send them without logging off and back in again. Definitely dumping this service. Extremely frustration junk. Should be illegal!!!!!

Hi, thank you for your feedback and sorry about the issues accessing our app. We do have a couple of thoughts here. First, we did have an issue with our service a couple of days ago that may have caused this issue. That has since been resolved and hopefully has the app working better for you. Additionally we published version 2.1.2 of our app this week to address some performance issues with calling. Try updating your app to the latest version and hopefully you'll find that it's working better. Our chief concern is that we get the app working well for you. Please feel free to contact support@numberbarn.com and let us know if issues persist. We'll work with you. Update: May 12, 2026 - I see that you edited your review. We have version 2.1.3 that's nearing publish and will address issues with logging out and back in. If you find yourself switching accounts often and logging in and out this can be tricky and require removing and re-adding the app. But this will improve shortly. Again, please reach out to support and let's start a dialog as we continue to improve our app.

NOT a reliable (or helpful) app

I’ve experienced the same issues others have reported. Since the last update, playing a voice mail will not mark it as read, and messages will NOT delete. I have a growing number on the icon of “new” items. They are not new - they won’t delete or update!! I’m going to look for another number parking solution.

Never receive texts until hours later

This is very basic and you can’t even respond to texts with any emojis. It doesn’t work well with iPhones and never receive notifications whenever I do get a text. Messages that are time sensitive for log in purposes don’t arrive on time so defeats the purpose I need it while overseas. It needs a whole upgrade.

Not Dependable

I need this app to open and work instantly, every time I use it. I depend on it to communicate with customers and many times it fails to load up.

The app is an embarrassment.

It’s not just the poorly designed and clunky interface. Good luck trying to make an outbound call. If one out of ten attempts works, consider yourself lucky.

Hardly works

Half the time I can’t send texts. I’ve never received a notification about calls although the voicemails come through. I just got accused of fraud for being myself because of how poorly this app works/calls not coming through. Absolutely atrocious

App needs improved

The app does not play through connected devices like headphones or speakers. Many times the VM will cut off halfway.

The service works great, the app needs improved.

Texter’s Delight

I’m on the Park plan for $2/month. Unlimited SMS+MMS and a customizable recorded greeting for anyone who decides to voice call my number. 2FA supports SMS, email and authentication apps. Great customer service is just an email away. I’m very pleased with NumberBarn😊

Headphones support?

Why do I have to take my headphones out to listen to voicemail? Headphone support is baked into the API - it’s ridiculous that I can only listen over the phone speaker.

This is a known issue with our mobile app that still exists. Currently you can listen to voicemail in handset or speaker mode. We will work to improve this in a future release.

Wish it worked better.

I echo Spechtaculyons comments. Whenever I make a call I have to hang up and call again since nothing happens the first time. Notifications don’t always work requiring a force quit of the app. Voice mail goes to the forwarded phone which can confuse callers if using the default message which is my preference.

Outgoing calls often have no audio with VOIP

More than half the time I call someone the calls have no audio and I have to try again. They can hear me, but I can’t hear them, but if I connect my headphones suddenly it works. Had this issue with multiple phones now. Seems to be a VOIP issue (even though my internet is great), works much better with the “callback” option.

Another issue, when it goes to voicemail it goes to the forwarded phone’s voicemail — not one specific to your new number, so if you use the default voicemail, it will announce the number it was forwarded to, not the numberbarn number.

Basics

It’s like they didn’t read the very basics of iOS development. Notifications don’t work, login doesn’t use the iOS keychain.

Also why no incoming calls? Basics.

Calls keep dropping

Love that I have this option to use my parked number, but every time I use NumberBarn to make or receive calls, my calls are frequently dropped during my conversations. Very frustrating!
Can someone please work on fixing the reliability of this??!!

iOS Text Mesaaging Broken

Downloaded this app to send texts. You can’t start a new conversation in the app. It never lets you select the number to text when clicking it. If you start a conversation from the browser then you can continue it in the app however. Seems broken.

Hi, when you initiate a new text message in the app, you should see a dropdown menu at the bottom of your screen to select a number. If you don't see it and you are confident that you have an active NumberBarn plan, I recommend deleting the app and downloading it again. If that still doesn't work, please reach out to our support team. We'll work with you to get this fixed.

Outrageous fees

I got the unlimited plan over a year ago. I was happy because I work internationally. When I signed up it didn’t talk about international fees.

I had to call the United States for an emergency during work and ended up being charged $400 USD for all of 20 minutes of calling. And the calls kept dropping out. I will never use this product again. These fees are unreasonable.

Awesome idea I’m very poor technical realization

Amazing and very cheap to keep American number being abroad, receiving text and voice messages straight on my phone in the app.

Poor app quality – extremely slow, dropping, unstable for calls.

Hi Rakne, so sorry to hear of the poor quality. We've identified a couple of issues with the app that have been fixed relating to the quality of calls. Also keep in mind that if you're using VoIP mode for outbound calling, the quality is only as good as your internet connection. Please reach out to support if we can help troubleshoot this. I know it's been a few months but we're happy to help.

Frequent glitches

I often lose the ability to send and receive messages and have to do some combination of restarting the app, turning phone on/off or uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

I would not choose NumberBarn again.
