Where’s the SnapBridge app? I can’t connect this one to my D5300
The best wired and wireless remote control app for my Z8
This is the app we have been waiting for . A complete remote solution for our Z8. This gives Nikon a true edge over other brands. I think they could extend this app to other platforms. It would be great if iPhone app start supporting landscape orientation so that we can do screen mirroring to large displays. Also it would be nice to have the camera control screen in iPad in a larger screen area so that we can see the live view and last shot image in a bigger space. Currently it is only there on 25% of screen. But overall it is a fantastic app.

Hardwire Remote Solution with Great Potential
NX field is complex software, targeted primarily at agencies who have techs whose job it is to configure and support the FTP Server (required), local and remote (if you’re adventurous) networks, and coordinate the paid firmware updates with NPS for all cameras to be used with the system. I am a very technologically adept freelancer and set the system up myself, including the setup of gamepads supported in the latest edition, for use at the US 2024 Olympic Trials for Swimming. The system proved very valuable for FTP transmission but needs a way for a photographer with a camera in hand to trigger remotes independently (you can set up a master remote that fires all, but that floods your take) and not via joystick or iPad because you have a camera in your hand. Ideal solution to me after extensive field testing would be making numbers 1-9 on a numpad hot keys for triggering independently each of the 9 possible remotes for system: it’s common for warehouse workers, for example, to be able to use a 10-key (include 0) without looking with high accuracy and speed. I would actually use a 3-key mini pad and strap it to my monopod to fire with my left hand fingers while using my right to hold and fire my camera in hand and never look down. 9 remotes is too much to remember if you’re the only photographer. As an assistant, I think 10-key would be much faster than trying to do the same on the iPad. In short, this has a lot of promise if you can dedicate the time - allow a lot, won’t be something setup in even a week of spare time - and Nikon can make a simple usability update. As stands gets a 5 on basis there’s not a good alternative to system’s existing functionality and does what it says will do if you dot all the i’s and cross all the t’s, have patience during process.

Best remote control app ever for Nikon
As long as you activate your Nikon Z8 or Z9 through service dept, NX Field comes free with a load of features to do everything you want, remotely. I use it for fixed remotes as well as on robots. Dream app!
Nope
Doesn’t work. Fails to connect phone (iPhone 12, operating with latest iOS), with Nikon Z9, (with latest firmware 4.00). This just fails.

Nikon a décidé de verrouiller l’accès à NX Field du Z9 depuis le firmware 2 et demande une fortune pour déverrouiller l’accès. Cet aspect mercantile n’a aucun sens
Camera needs activation
The App-description says that the camera needs to be activated by an authorised NPS-representant, which costs a fee.
No connection to Z9
Even if you have the IP address, you get "invalid the group name". When I set the group in the camera. The connection can not be established without any further error message.
Really Nikon?
Even the connection of a camera is the basic hurdle that could not overcome. How can the app ask for an IP Address when my Z6 shows it’s IP Adress nowhere?
Has the developer of the app ever used a Nikon camera the Test this App? I doubt so.
How about implementing something like Bonjour(Zero Conf) to just find the camera on the same net?
