Charges from NY Times is a scam
Every month, I’ve been charged for a digital subscription to the NY Times but when I log in, it says there’s no subscription. I called customer service, and the representative said there was no record of a subscription under my name. I explained that the charge on my credit card statement was clearly from The New York Times, but he said there was no record of the charge on his end.
Completely confused, I asked, “Then how do I stop the charges?” He told me it was probably a scam. What is going on????

Constant bombardment of requests that I sign up for a family plan
The frequent requirement that I receive an email
code to read an article. Is EXTREMELY annoying. I get access through my work but pay to support NYT. It is hard to believe that this ‘family’ campaign actually brings in any new members. Please stop!

Timely and accurate
It is so difficult to get timely accurate information in today’s twisted world. I believe that I have found that with my Times feed
Peerless coverage
I am so glad I decided to subscribe to the NYT. The articles are well researched, well written and quench my thirst for knowledge. I love that my sub gives me access to narrated stories and podcasts. The perspective of a Cuban on the receiving end of the US blockade and the life of children caring for sick relatives are just two of the ‘behind the news’ stories I really enjoyed reading about. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Frustrating Reliads
If you think the website is annoying (hitting the back button to return to the home page ALWAYS returns you to the top of the page) you’re gonna LOVE the constant interrupting refreshes of the app. Read a story and go back? Refresh. Switch to another section and immediately go back? Refresh. Leave app for literally 5 seconds, even by accident? Refresh. Please make it stop.

Biased Reporting
The New York Times remains capable of strong journalism, but its credibility is undermined by an increasingly obvious liberal bias. Too often, stories appear framed around a preferred political narrative while facts or perspectives that complicate that narrative are minimized, buried, or omitted altogether. Independent media-rating organizations similarly place the Times to the left of center, with its opinion section rated even further left. A newspaper with the Times’ influence should challenge its readers with all material facts—not simply the ones that support the story it wants to tell.

I have been reading the NYT for several years, and treasure the independent journalism, it’s quality, it’s breadth, and use this in addition to public media such as PBS: public radio as my main sources of news. Thank you NYTimes!
Left Leaning
My childhood paper has become a platform for socialist and communist nonsense. There is almost nothing redeeming about its reportage. It pains me to look at it every day and I think I am kidding myself that it will recover its former glory. What an embarrassment it has become.

Feels like a Daily Newspaper
Reading NYT via my local library. Feels like you are reading a daily newspaper but it is so much more when it comes to the latest global news from the US perspective along with brilliant articles on latest health and wellbeing findings. I also love the NYT Games as a paid subscriber.
Appreciate robust CDN. bureau along w/ U.S. & World
As a Canadian, I’ve supported the NYT w/ a subscription since 2020 - start of a new U.S. admin. It was my way of supporting in-depth, investigative journalism. I’m grateful to see they have a full & robust CDN. bureau which compliments the U.S. & world views.
Terrible app functionality
The layout and navigation of the app is absolutely terrible, especially considering how much it costs for a NYT subscription for a “premium” service. The app is still full of ads! What am I even paying for if you’re still shoving ads down my throat? The section layout in the app is a joke. The whole app feels like it was vibe coded by a teenager over the weekend. The only redeeming quality is the substance of the article and the reporting.

The app for iPad constantly resets, restarts, stutters, jitters, and lags. It is essentially unusable.
