Watch out for bad lawyers.

If you get the right lawyer this app can be good. If you get a bad one they will not help you or listen to you. They will differ your ticket and you will have to pay them $200 and your ticket and you will have to take a driving course. Got pulled over by a cop saying they paced me speeding. I wasn’t speeding and I was 4 lanes over from them and they were not moving when I passed them. Now pay $400 plus driving school. Make that make sense.

Deceptive app design

They trap your money before you can make an informed choice.
The app is built on a forced commitment. Their system forces you into a backwards order of operations: you upload your case details, you pay the flat legal fee upfront, and only AFTER your money is taken do you finally get contacted by an attorney. They should really have a filter "Is it even worth fighting this?" before they capture your cash.
Once they got my money, the actual attorney representation didn’t provide any advice or even a practical cost-benefit analysis. They did a great job paper pushing and collecting my information to set a court date. But after waiting a whole year with zero updates, the officer showed up to court, and I lost. Now, I am stuck paying the lawyer's fees, the original ticket, and the court costs. Each case is different, but for a simple traffic infraction like mine, the app and the attorney absolutely had no filter to advise against fighting my specific violation. Before you spend your time and money on here, spend a few minutes utilizing an Al tool for next steps. Google Gemini AI for example did a way better job than this app will. It’s a shame there were limitations to the AI back then. GO HERE IF YOU NEED A PAPER MULE NOT FOR LEGAL HELP.

Waste of time money

Waste of time money. Hired generic attorneys that don’t care at all about outcome of case and have no incentive. Jacked up rates $2000 per renewal period every year for three years. Run by attorneys too

Case dismissed

They got my case completely dismissed, they’re law services are the cheapest I’ve found in the market and it’s a very simple and easy process.

Quote was way too expensive

Wanted $1610 to fight a fist time offense speeding ticket for 2 points that they estimate would raise my insurance rates by $750 over next 3 to 5 years. How is that a good deal?

Great

The app lives up to its name. Never has it been so easy to hire an attorney. They really should win some kind of award for making legal representation so accessible.

Refund policy is a scam

I try to be realistic. My attorney changed my plea to no contest the day of the hearing since the officer just showed up to court. What is the point of spending so much money and waiting for an year for court date and getting absolutely nothing in return. I started with traffic school eligibility and ended with same fine and eligibility after an year. And Off the Record says they won’t refund if traffic school is an option even after trial. As if they negotiated traffic school for me, even though it’s my first offense.

No communication

Honestly could have probably gotten a better result representing myself on this ticket than the assigned lawyer did.
Very little communication and did not represent me well as the client. Was a simple 10 mph ticket with no evidence of speed and the attorney only asked for a dismissal and it was rejected.

Getting it done right

This app has helped me several times with favorable outcomes. I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Its worked every single time

I’m not proud of confessing I’ve had to use OTR at least 10 times in my live. But every single time I’ve had to the different attorneys that have handled my case have at least make it not reportable. Most of the time the cases have been dismissed. Thank you OTR

Great app!

I can’t believe how easy it was to find a lawyer and help get my ticket off my record. My lawyer was very helpful and helped me understand everything she was doing. And these are legit lawyers!!! Highly recommend!!!!

Only works if the copy doesn’t show

You are essentially making a bet on the officer not showing up. Otherwise, the premise is a bit of a bait and switch.

The sell: Pay the cost of the ticket and get out of it or you don’t pay.

The reality: If you dispute the ticket, you lose your ability to take traffic school (if given). If the officer shows, you lose the case, but the lawyer will get traffic school reinstated. This counts as a win, so you pay the lawyer, AND you pay the ticket. The reality is You are worse off than if you just paid the ticket.

May be better for more complex cases, but wouldn’t use it again for a speeding ticket.

Works like a charm

Works great! A little pricey. Pretty funny that they sent an email that said, “ statistic show that users who don’t leave us. A review are 400% more likely to get another speeding ticket. “… That being said at the bottom of email does specify that the statistic is a joke. Very funny.

Very fast and clear

Very fast and clear communication. Resolved the ticket (points reduction) in what must be record time. Very much appreciated.

No one would take my case

I tried 4 times to get an attorney, and I would pay, then they would say the case is pending. Just to cancel it and say they can’t take the case

Lawyer never showed; OTR refused refund

I booked a lawyer through this service who never showed up to our court date. Then I was forced to represent myself. After representing myself, the ticket was reduced, but my lawyer never presented the courtroom. Then they had the nerve to send me a congratulations that my case was successful through their app. After attempting to reach out to customer service multiple times, however they have no phone number listed or direct person that you can talk to. They told me that they could not refund my money. Even though they had not provided the service my lawyer never showed up, and I represented myself. They continue to refuse my refund. The lawyer that they put me in touch with even offered to refund them his portion and they still refuse. The lawyer ended up, offering to refund me the money directly given the fact that I was never actually represented by anyone. very, very disappointed in this service.

Lawyer no showed

Lawyer didn’t show up to court after saying he would so I got an additional fine for failing to appear.

Ticket Dismissed With Zero Headaches

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Off The Record made the entire process painless. From the moment I submitted my ticket, they connected me with an attorney who handled everything professionally and kept me informed throughout the process. I barely had to do anything other than provide the details and approve the recommended resolution.

The attorney was knowledgeable, responsive, and able to secure a result that saved me from points, fines, and potential insurance increases. The peace of mind alone was worth it.

If you’re dealing with a traffic ticket and want someone in your corner, I highly recommend Off The Record. Worth every penny.

Great app

the process is easy

Save your money and go to court yourself

Their definition of “a win” is bull. Pay them and then you just end up paying the full fine. Go to court. Save your money. Don’t pay these guys.
