Solid app

Wish there was a free version that was limited and with ads or something, but overall the subscription is pretty good value

Very AI Generated

Content is ok but the lessons sound very AI. App itself kinda feels like someone asked Claude to recreate Duolingo.

Idea itself is good but execution needs to be better.

Bad text to speech

The voice that reads the explanations does a terrible job at speaking symbols and abbreviations. The app uses symbols and abbreviations constantly and the voice fills in some of these with (what sounds like) gibberish. It replaces the sign “=“ with something incomprehensible. This is just one of MANY examples. It is soooo distracting it makes learning difficult. Also, the app will use electronic symbols (such as L=Inductor and H=Unit of Inductance) without ever explaining the abbreviation. This leads to jumping back and forth between Google and Ohmie to help translate what it is telling you.

Doesn't explain well

It sounds like something made in a different language and they tried to interpret into English. The voice is annoying, too cutesy for me, and the phrasing and wording often doesn't make sense. Sometimes I have to read it over several times to try and understand what they're saying.

Great app!

I’ve learned so much about electronics through Ohmie and hope to one day be sponsored by them

Good, but some improvements will help

I’ve been using this for around a week and decided to subscribe. The format and concept work well and, as a beginner, I am learning. There looks like there is plenty of scope to learn more too. The biggest current issues is the language. The text is written by AI and has that familiar AI cadence. This is mostly OK, but because instructions are short, it can lead to meanings becoming unclear. There are also some UI issues with some tasks where it’s not entirely clear how you’re supposed to interact with a model, and so you end up clicking a little randomly.

The app isn’t free is just another subscription

You can’t use the app at all without paying for it. Waste of time

App design

I really like the app but its not fully smooth yet. I feel like some stuff could be done better like some of the explanations and examples. But overall great app!

11th day of learning!

On my 11th day streak, genuinely learnt so much - really recommend this App, it is very well thought out

Disappointed

I liked the concept but the screen is too complicated and it is confusing what you are supposed to click or move and then due to glitches you can spend ages clicking around the screen as it won’t respond

Okay interface, all lessons reek of AI

All the lessons feel entirely Claude designed and definitely written by Claude. It’s so annoying reading that slop

Richtig gut!

Perfekt zum lernen von allem was mit Elektronik zu tun hat. Kleine Schritte, von totaler Anfänger bis zu Profi. Besser gehts nicht.

Not worth it

At least ai assisted and shows you a baby tutorial then asks for you to sign up for a paid subscription. There’s much better options via YouTube. Don’t bother

🙊

I LOVE IT 🙊

Looks good but….

There is no free version of this app. You have to pay even for the trial

Language

Please add German as a language

So far so good!

Why do I have to pay for trials?

It’s a really good app but I have to pay to actually learn from it? Can you make it free?

Relatively inexpensive and great way to learn

Apps like duolingo try to keep you in their app as long as possible to milk your subscription as long as possible. Their goal is not necessarily to actually teach you, as that would mean they’d lose you as a paying customer. While the teaching style and form of this app is clearly built on the same concepts, the situation here is different. The content progresses slowly, but doesn’t try to keep you unnecessarily, which is great. The text tonality is a bit weird, akin to having a rhyme. But it’s not the worst and you can get used to it. Overall, well done!
