Free trial is a scam

I was told I was getting a 3 day free trial, however when I signed up, I was immediately charged $28 for an annual subscription with no free trial, and Apple denied my dispute request. Complete scam.

Membership

Very difficult to cancel membership. Still waiting for a response.

They take your money!

I download the app and I was offered a 14 day free trial, have used the app twice and a today a week later I got charged over $50 for an annual subscription!!! Im so upset they tricked me and took my money I want my refund and I’m cancelling my subscription, why would I want an annual subscription for something I have barely used ??? UPDATE: I tried cancelling the membership and it won’t even give you the fkn option in the app, SO WHAT THE HLL????

Not working

Can’t even get passed the “refer a friend get a 14 day trial”

Have to pay

Paying to receive healthy options that I can just google is crazy. Just use yuka.

Off to a bad start!

The first item it’s said to swap without a prompt from me is Lays potato chips for Siete brand. Siete was not only bought out by big manufacturers but was also exposed for having seed oils in the so called “healthy” avocado oil. Not a good recommendation. Hope it doesn’t keep up this way.

Can’t scan unless in pantery

Why is this a think I paid and want to scan right away

Waste of time

It’s not free, but comes with a fee that is not disclosed. Apple should require the fee to be posted in the store. Very deceptive app. Deleted

Ethical

It’s rare to find ethical companies now a days, thank you Xander

SHOULD BE BANNED FROM THE APPSTORE FOR VIOLATING SAFETY

I’ve seen multiple products where the scoring is clearly incorrect. For example, some chip brands like Cheetos I’ve seen receive scores as high as 93 despite being loaded with additives. This app shouldn’t score additives in a way that makes them seem like minor concerns, and especially not give high ratings to items like Flamin Hot Cheetos Poffs.

When I questioned the AI about these scoring errors, it told me that it would flag the item for review. However, when I asked for more information about the flagging process, the AI contradicted itself and admitted that it doesn’t actually have access to flag or report items.

I understand that AI can make mistakes, but it shouldn’t claim that it performed an action when it has no ability to do so. Between the inaccurate scores and the AI giving me misleading information about reporting errors, I don’t feel like I can trust the app’s ratings.

Stop with the ads for GLP!!!

Used to be an amazing app that gave you actual insight into products with the analysis section. They recently changed that section to always lead up to an ad for GLP-1, no matter what product you look into. They sold out and it’s extremely disappointing to see. I would far prefer other ads on the app (between searches for example) to their constantly advertising for GLP-1 on every single product. Go back to the old Olive, im sick of this dumb propaganda
Update: their response just doubled down on pushing GLPs lol. You had a good thing going and youre actively ruining it congratulations i will not be renewing my subscription. Hope the GLP ad money was worth it. Lost the plot

JUST LET ME USE APP

I’ll keep YUKA
Before you can even use the app to ask you a bunch of questions that for me were completely irrelevant and personal so I deleted it before I ever got a chance to use Like bro just let me use the App stop gate keeping to get my personal info.

Really push their peptides on you

I wanted to love this app but every time I go to the explanation on why something scored the way it did, it’s always a sales pitch on why I should buy their GLP-1 or another peptide. I also wish there was a way to turn off the diary prompts every time I open the scanner. I don’t want to fill out those questions just for them to try to push the peptides again. Not to mention the scanner has only worked half the time in the grocery store. Hard to trust an app when it tried to sell you something at every turn

WAY BETTER THAN YUKA

Do not get Yuka it sucks olive is way better

Scammed

Edit:why would I emaiI the same exact person who’s been ignoring my emails for over a month? Already filed my claim and report.

I paid for the full year and was still locked out of my features that should have unlocked. I have been emailing for a month now about refunding my account over 8 emails and still nothing. Be careful….they will not response.

Predatory gross business practices - avoid

Update: the developer response did nothing to address these concerns. They just shift the accountability to Apple to manage their subscriptions and act as if they couldn’t possibly do something else to better support customers.

Why not give reminders about how much time is left to cancel right in the app? Make it easier? Because you want people to forget and have to pay you! That’s predatory and ableist, no way around it.

Read the fine print!! The seven day free trial is actually only six days. You have to cancel 24 hours before it ends to avoid being charged.

Not only that, but despite having lower cost monthly subscriptions available they charge you for a FULL YEAR if you don’t cancel in time.

There’s no need for this, they could just have the free features stop working after seven days instead of charging people. The least they could do is be up front and clear about exactly when and how to cancel and encourage you to screen shot it before agreeing to the trial.

Even after paying a high fee, they still embed GLP-1 ads for you to open throughout the app disguised as opportunities to “learn more” about a food ingredient.

This app could be great if the company genuinely cared about honesty/ethics as much as $$$. I won’t be subscribing again. Not that they care, because they have built their business on scamming new people into paying instead.

App is good but camera doesn’t work

The meal camera works but my shelf and single item scan doesn’t

Expensive

showed 29.99 for the yearly price yet i was charged 54.99 not even a month of having the app. so absurd.

“Free” paid trial

Charged me for free trial with no refund after cancelling membership, tried to fear monger me into signing up again by claiming the day after the “membership” expired by sending a notification that something scanned had now been recalled. I am pregnant and all these FDA recalls are terrifying, how horrible of you to try and use that to make me pay again. That’s sick.

Annoying to Test

Nothing worse than having to answer a bunch of questions with no way to skip and end with the only option is a free trial that still needs payment on file. Just wanted to try the app without the nonsense first.
