ON1 Studio and I have to pay more?
I downloaded the mobile app because on one studio said I would have everything. I logged in and the first thing I see is it wants me to pay more- I guess I’m the fool.
Nowhere near the quality of desktop app
On1 Photo Raw on the iPad is basically unusable for me. Trying to add any type of mask produces a lockup and then the app just quits. Customer support says it's a "known issue" and will be fixed in a "future release". Thanks.
Okay
Needs powerful PC and app is mediocre on tablet
A sad imitation of the desktop version
I tried the desktop version and liked it so I cancelled my LR subscription and bought this. I mostly use my iPad for photo editing and this is really disappointing. LR on iPad is almost on par with the desktop version while this only has a fraction of the features of the desktop version. Where is the interface from your App Store screenshots? Where is the file browser and folder management? The heal brush is so bad it’s unusable. This app looks like someone started working on it and gave up a quarter of the way through.

No save preset
I like the App but there is no save preset option. That’s a bummer I have a paid account.
Not even for free
I own the iMac paid version which is fairly good. This one is slow and crashes all the time. Totally unusable when you are on the go,
Mo’ Money
I hate subscriptions. Thought I was buying use the app, not endless subscriptions to more pieces of the app. Paid $119 + tax last night. Tried to use tonight, immediately start getting Buy more pieces if your want to use this app. All I am able do is the same thing I can do on Apple Photos, really basic adjustments. Next, Another $40 for ON1+, whatever that is, I think is training videos. When I try to use a tool that isn’t already available to me in Apple Photos for free, the ON1 app gives me one option, buy a cloud subscription. I don’t want a cloud subscription. I want to store locally, at least until I decide if I like the app. I am fed up with subscriptions. Two stars is a generous rating for my experience with this app so far. Might be a good app, but I don’t think I’ll ever know, because I am not buying a SUBSCRIPTION to cloud storage. I already pay for cloud storage with Apple. What else are you going to try to sell me?

It’s ‘ok’
ON1 for mobile has the potential to be a really good tool in your photo editing arsenal but it’s too buggy and crashes frequently. I’m using it on an M5 iPad Pro 13inch and whenever I choose to mask an item to make local adjustments the app crashes and you have to start all over again. It’s pretty frustrating as the rest of the app is quite useable.

Was looking for alternative to lightroom
Zooming in and editing will cause the app to crash on my phone
Crashes 100% of the time. Utterly useless app.
I purchased the ON1 Full app for my desktop machine and decided to download the mobile app. It crashes 100% of the time I’ve tried reinstalling. I’ve rebooted multiple times. I’m running the most recent iPad Pro so system resources should not be an issue. The app is completely unusable and useless.
STILL Not even a value add vs. desktop
November 2025. ON1: Basic UI glitches like being unable to tap the X to close the new filter dialog on modern iPhones. No support for arguably the only differentiating feature of ON1: their AI denoising. Using that on a PC precludes you from editing that pic with this. Overall just a frustrating and clunky experience.
Competitors: great UX, modern AI features.
Please don’t make me switch to Lightroom.

Not Exactly
The ap is similar to desktop, but not as easy to use, & some tools I use in that space, are not here, or as readily available.
Why on screen rotate functionality
This would be so much better if you could rotate the screen for landscape photos!
Decent Step
Just Ok. On1 for Mac has far more filters and capability. Having only a handful on On1 Mobile is very limiting. I guess for syncing and sharing it’s ok but falls FAR short as an editor. The editing is not much better than native iOS camera app or free SnapSeed app.
Basically, capture, organize, due basic things then do serious editing on Mac.

UNUSABLE
This app keeps freezing whenever I try to edit a RAW photo
Way too slow to bother with.
Tried using this on an m1 iPad Pro as am currently looking to ditch adobe / lightroom due to my hate of thier bloating subscription costs. Truthfully this is just too painfully slow to use even before getting to the point where you can make any actual adjustments. Good that you get a 30 day free trial, but doesn’t take long to realise this is just a badly flawed product. Similarly the desktop version is also frustratingly slow when I tested it on an M3 pro MacBook Pro, so either there is a problem with both of my devices, or this software option is just not up to task (on apple devices at least).

It’s decent when it works
So tired of app developers getting the basics only half way right and then rolling out advanced and gimmicky features. The basics that this app doesn’t yet have figured out are: editing for more than 5 min without the app crashing. I feel like that’s all I need to say. Bought the lifetime app to replace Lightroom. Guess that money is gone and now I’m headed back to Lightroom 🤷♂️
