511 Ontario
This used to work on my old iPhone X. But lately it just crashes every time. I liked it for checking traffic & weather. But if they can’t make it work DELETE.
Doesn’t open
The app crashes upon opening. Never works properly. Considering tax payers pay for this , it’s embarrassing.
Beyond slow
On my iPad Pro 13, the fastest iPad Apple has, it takes over 10 seconds to display the opening map. Since my last speed test shows download speeds in excess of 900mbs, so it can’t be the network. Google Maps opens with subsecond speed. Why do Ontarians have to suffer with poor software? Time for a major rewrite.

This app struggles to work at the best of times and lately it won’t even open.
In theory a good idea
App now just crashes on IOS 26.4, CarPlay crashes , prior to not working app would freeze and is generally unusable. Suggest you add data to Apple Maps and let apple do the coding.
Extremely buggy app
Jams, crashes and misfunctions in general. It used to be better but as of March 2026 it’s unusable.
Website is better
I got the app thinking it would be easier but it keeps crashing when I open it so I just deleted it and went back to the website
App and Web different results
The Web 511 has all the northern Highways closed but the App just has them snow covered. People up north are saying they under orders not to travel and the roads are ALL closed. Seems that the App has false information.
Freezes After Awhile
This is a very good app. However it freezes after awhile to the point where the app won’t open.

Crashes when you try to use CarPlay. Don’t waste your time downloading this app.
Not working on iOS 26.3
I have to regularly uninstall and reinstall to get the app to move past the black 511 home screen.
In addition, the whole 511 service is pretty useless unless you are travelling within 30 minutes of the most recent report (usually around 6 am, 11 am, 3:30 pm and 7 or 9 pm). Conditions change rapidly in the winter.

App not open
Always takes time for process and nothing open and app shut down on iPhone
App Won’t Load
The app just won’t load. It gets stuck on the Ontario 511 page.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling this apps every times and it works for a while then will not load .. typical Government service not sure why I expect more ha ha

They should put taxpayer money to good use and get someone to professionally develop a functioning app.
Not working on iPhone iOS 18.7.4
Stays on 511 black screen have to uninstall the app and reinstall the Ontario 511 to get it to work then it locks up again used be a good app but now it is a terrible app time to just delete the app and give up on it.

This app is wonderful when it actually works but since the last update, it crashes any time I try to open it.. the only temporary fix is to uninstall and reinstall the app..very annoying when you use it often..
Crash alert
Good app. Sluggish and slow, but has good real-time data and info. Would be a great app if it were dependable.
