My take - Best price guarantee is a fraud ( experienced first handed )
The sales team is very proactive when it comes to convincing you to spend your money and purchase a Prime membership. They promote benefits such as the “Best Price Guarantee” with great confidence. Unfortunately, once the payment is made and you actually try to claim those promised benefits, the experience seems completely different.
I repeatedly contacted customer care to confirm that all my documents had been submitted correctly and that everything required was in place. Each time, I was reassured: “Yes, everything is in order. Our team will respond. Our team will take care of it.”
After waiting four or five days, instead of receiving the promised resolution, I was suddenly given new reasons as to why the claim could not be processed something was supposedly missing, incorrect, or did not meet another restriction. This was particularly frustrating because I have records and evidence of what was submitted and of the assurances I received.
The entire process felt unnecessarily complicated, with conditions and restrictions seemingly becoming apparent only when it was time to honour the Best Price Guarantee.
In my experience, aggressively advertising a “Best Price Guarantee” while making the actual claim process so restrictive and difficult is extremely misleading. I purchased the Prime membership expecting the advertised benefits to be honoured, not to spend days following up with customer service only to encounter additional objections later.
A deeply dissatisfactory experience. I would strongly recommend that prospective customers read every condition of the Best Price Guarantee carefully before paying for Prime membership rather than relying solely on what the sales team communicates.

Very disappointing and misleading experience.
While booking a flight, the app offered me a “Prime Membership Free Trial”, which gave me a discount on my booking. I activated it and booked a ticket.
I had previously used a Prime free trial and cancelled it, but when I booked again, the Opodo app itself offered me another free trial and allowed me to activate it. There was no clear warning during the booking process telling me that I was not eligible for another free trial.
When I later contacted customer service to cancel before the trial ended, I was told that the free trial is only available once and that, because I had used it before, I now have to pay back the discount I received on my tickets if I wanted to cancel.
This is frustrating! If I was not eligible for the free trial, why did the app offer it to me and allow me to activate it in the first place? The system should simply have prevented me from using the offer or clearly warned me BEFORE I paid.
If I knew this, I would not have booked through Opodo at all. I would have booked directly with the airline instead.
Customers should be able to rely on the price and conditions shown to them at checkout. Offering a “Free Trial” and only explaining additional financial consequences after the booking has been made feels very misleading.
I hope Opodo reviews this practice and resolves my case fairly.
