Potential for classical musicians!

After downloading this app, I was impressed by how much passion and care that went into this app. And the developer of this app clearly is a classical musician that’s passionate about capturing emotional responses from listening to classical music.

That said, the app is a digital diary for people to write their emotional responses to whatever music piece they’ve listen to.

In addition when you create a new diary log, you can select which composer you’ve listened to and which recording you want. But the composer list is limited. I found this out when I wanted to create a diary log for Nikolai Myaskovsky- Symphony No. 7.

But the app didn’t have him and the only way you can choose the recording is through Apple Music. As opposed to using a YouTube links.

I feel that this app can have more features. Like the ability to share diary log with other people and expand the composer list.

In conclusion, excellently designed app for classical musicians but does need more content to stay relevant. 🎹🎶

Response from developer

Quick update for you. A few of the things you asked for just shipped: You can now add any composer or work manually, so no more dead ends like Myaskovsky. And sharing is live: you can export an image of a single entry, or your whole month of listening. (Also, in case it helps: pasting a YouTube, Spotify, or TIDAL link when adding a recording has always worked. I've just made it more obvious in this update.) Thanks again for the thoughtful review. It genuinely shaped what I built. Always glad to hear more at jacob@opusjournal.app. –Jacob
