Suggestions

I haven’t used the app too much yet but Ive gotten to play around with it and there are some things that I think would make the app 100 times better and some issues I’ve come across. First is the volume because you cant bring the volume to an absolute zero but if you change the volume through the apple accessories settings you cant bring it to a zero. Second when you make a favorite you can’t change to that favorite with the device you have to go to the app for that. Third my main reason for being here is a suggestion that you should add apple shortcuts support because i have this little device that can send texts and it’s a hassle to have to go and get my other phone out just too change your volume or something so of you added shortcuts you could make a shortcut so when I receive a text from this device, it can change the volume or change the favorite that it is on or like you could make it so when you arrive at a school or work it automatically switches to a mode that is better suited for conversations. Anyway i think these changes would make the app a lot better and more customizable for different people. Key take away add shortcuts!!!

Connection is Awful

The connection is horrible. One day my processors will be connected to the app and the next day, they randomly disconnect from it. I have gone 3 months with them not being able to connect. It’s really frustrating. I changed my batteries and had them touching my phone as well as tried to connect them while they were on my head. Still nothing. Please make the connection better.

I finally have to say something

I guess I’ll start from the updated change. I really like the older versions layout. I did have to sign in to access the new setup. I was at a family event when it had rolled out and was fiddling for over an hour trying to get my Osia’s to stay connected. Replacing the batteries, opening and closing the doors. My phone is set up to remember the original connection so even trying forget device didn’t work at the time. It would stay connected briefly then disconnect. I was left apologizing to family members. Letting them know that I wasn’t ignoring them and explaining to them what I had been trying to do on my phone. I have come to notice that unless I keep the app open in the background the setting doesn’t stay the same and it takes a bit for the connection to be made. Also sometimes it won’t show that it’s connected to one side and even sometimes that one of my devices isn’t verified. I’ve had my Osia’s since the end of 2024, surgery was 9/25/24. So I know it isn’t my hearing devices themselves. The other issues I’ve had I have made with adjustments on my phones settings, whether that be through headphones or hearing aid settings through accessibility. My overall experience with this new update has not been enjoyable. Beings this is the app the HAS to be used, I bumped it to 3 stars as a thank you for the development and having it available. Do consider reworking it, please. I wouldn’t mind at all if there’s anything needed help in developing.

Sincerely,
Jen

Device is great, the App is terrible

So my app bugged the other day and I was unable to select any of my presets. Called customer service who then had me redownload the app (a little excessive but fine). I then ask if there was anybody I could speak to about possible improvements to the app as I have a decent amount of experience with sound. First off he seemed to get offended right away and pushed the conversation towards something more confrontational. Within this escalation, he told me that the app needs to be simple so everyone can use it. That is understandable, but currently the assumption by the developer of the app is that we are all paramecium with no ability to think at all. At least have an advanced settings option for those that want more control over their own hearing. Give me a 10 band EQ and separate gain and volume sliders (just like any EQ you would find in any music software). I know it’s not hard as there are many apps that have this ability and way more. If anything all these negative reviews should have you seriously consider hiring a different app developer, one that is actually competent and understands audio. That or I’ll just have to try and jailbreak the unit and find someone else to design a third party app to completely dominate this tinker-toy of an application.

Worst hearing aide app

OSIA helps me he hear, but the phone connection and app are horrible. The devices drop connection to the app/phine all the time and sounds for notifications come through about 50 percents of the time. When streaming there is a crackling sound in the background. When contacting customer service they told me to make sure I have notifications on. I can assure you this is not a user error. It is a low quality tech situation. For the amount of money I paid I should receive more.

New layout makes it harder

The new layout makes it MUCH harder to navigate between settings. The latency of swiping to the last setting is infuriating and the old layout had all buttons visible on the landing page.

Horrible app!

I don’t like giving bad reviews, but if you’re considering a cochlear implant ask your doctor for another brand! If I could I’d give it -4 stars!

1. The device works well, except for streaming. You might as well hook your music to a tin can on a string! Better sound quality

2. The app…is amazingly terrible! If it you catch it on the 15-20% of the time it works, it’s basically worthless then! I can’t log on because my session has expired and it says it sent me an email but i checked my email and my trash and nothing so I can’t even log in!

3. Customer service…heh heh. You will be ignored in the order you were received!

4. It says it has a tracker feature in case you lose your processor, I could use a blind Pomeranian with a head cold and it would do better than this feature

I have had my implant for a year, and if anything it has gotten worse! I have kept thinking and hoping that it would get better, but has not, and it’s not like I can just get a new device!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We truly appreciate your honesty, and we’re very sorry to hear how frustrated you’ve been feeling. Living with a cochlear implant is not a small decision, and you deserve technology and support that you can rely on every single day. It’s encouraging to hear that the core device is working well for you, but we understand that streaming quality, app reliability, and the tracking feature are important parts of your overall experience. When those features don’t perform as expected, it can understandably feel disappointing — especially after a year of hoping things would improve. We’re particularly concerned to hear about the login issues and the difficulty reaching customer service. That’s not the experience we want anyone to have. You should never feel ignored when you’re asking for help. We would truly like the opportunity to investigate the app access problem, the streaming concerns, and the tracker functionality with you directly to see what may be causing these issues and what solutions are available. If you’re open to it, please reach out to us at 800-483-3123 option #2. We’d like to connect you with a dedicated support specialist to work through this together. Your feedback is important. Thank you again for sharing your experience — we hope to have the chance to make this right.

Awful

Software constantly gets interfered with texts and other programs and sets itself back to default settings.
No way to change default settings. New upgrade has horrible feedback on iPhone.
All my levels are set flat because now there is static noise under all of it. Sucks!

No warning update

Last night the app worked fine. This morning it’s been changed and won’t connect. Great job!

Bad app

This is a terrible app! I Don’t say this lightly. I have an implant. I need it. It’s HORRIBLE this app! Why can I not save a setting and a volume level of my choosing as the default. Every time I power the unit on it goes to a setting that does not work for me. And a volume level of 67!!!!!!!!!!!!! My comfort volume level is 10. 67 is a freaking bull horn against my head. This is MADNESS!!!!! And there is no message center in the app. I get message notifications and when I click on the message it disappears. NOWHERE TO BE FOUND, it’s just gone. Y’all should be ashamed with this app! So disappointed

Tracking feature is a joke

The tracking feature does not work. It simply tells you the location of where the hearing aids were when you last opened the app. This is the only feature of the app that is of use to me so I never use it unless I’m trying to find them. My daughter’s hearing aids are always connected to my phone via Bluetooth and it never shows their real location.

Clumsy

Software constantly gets interfered with texts and other programs and sets itself back to default settings. No way to change the default program or establish a new default. Still getting a lot of clipping at high frequency noise, music or singing. Only 3 adjustments in the equalizer so it’s hard to fine tune input levels.

Locate processor does not work

The locate processor does not work. The pin does not show up on the map and the closer range finder does not work as well. I spoke to Cochlear and they said it would have to be fixed in an update. They had no idea when a new update was coming out.

I do like the demo of sounds so you know what each sound means.

The “equalizer” does not give real time changes. It is difficult to tell if the changes are better since you can’t hear what those adjustments are as you make them. As I slide the ball up and down, I should be able to hear the change.

Right now I can adjust volume and change to my mini mic with the app and the is about it. It could be so much more. I hope they expand it and make these changes.

Frustrating!

Battery indicator goes from 100% to zero with nothing in between. Instructions are non-existent. Have been using for four months now but still haven’t found program options that meet my needs. So frustrating!

Unable to create an account

Even if I contacted the customer support, I even can't create an account. Thus this app is useless.

Needs updating

Drops connection regularly. The symbols are not easily understandable. For a medical app there should be instructions included.
Please get a tech, with an Osia, on this app. Thank you

Please unlock features

Many of the features are locked and cannot be accessed. Streaming glitchy at best and background noise is unbearable while streaming. Outdoor or loud environments render devices useless. I realize my audiologist can make adjustments but the end user needs to be able to make adjustments as they are the person living with this product. Bluetooth for phone is completely useless altogether. Background noise overwhelms the person on the other end of the phone. They complain all the time that they cannot hear me.

UPDATE: I am still waiting for Rep/Customer Service to get back to me after reaching out to them via phone/email/smoke signals. My account is still not setup despite resetting and setting up dozens of times. You’d think for $250k a customer could receive resolution.
