Fave game!

My all-time favorite iOS game. So much fun and I love the strategy elements. I love the new tournament mode, it’s a really interesting way to play. I’m trying to be patient with all the new content from tournaments but I’m ready for more campaign challenges!!

It’s okay

I liked these type of games, and have played many over the years. What I really don’t like about this game is that you have to start all over from the beginning when you make a mistake, and since the game can move quite slow, and there is only two speeds, starting over can be quite frustrating.Normal speed is quite slow, and the faster speed isn’t fast enough so you spend a lot of time waiting for things to complete. Some gameplay wasn’t explained well in the beginning such as trees don’t grow back, so I wasted a lot of time before realizing what was wrong. But, I maybe would have kept playing if I could have gone back to a save point instead of starting all over again and again.

Ruined a great game.

This game is a game I can sit and play for hours to destress, instead I’m hit with the utmost lag, on a A19 PRO that’s ridiculous, instead of focusing on adding new things and tournaments that half the players hate focus on actually optimizing the game and making it playable. This is ridiculous and this development team has totally lost they’re way from outlanders 1 so damn sad.

Love it

Absolutely love this game. I wish there were more campaigns but that’s my only complaint.

New stuff isn’t as engaging or even new

I adapted to the daily challenges and loved weekend originals while waiting for new campaign stories. Now the daily AND weekend challenges are replays and still no new stories. Leaderboards are full of impossible results, aka cheaters. Let us keep track of our own best times so we can at least play against ourselves?

If you need to keep adding new stuff, make it different plants, buildings, or resources instead of phone-ified gameplay. Add upgraded warehouses that hold building supplies like planks, clay, and bricks. Separate out the turn-based thing like a lite version, please don’t focus efforts on reducing the world-building fun of the game!

Great

An amazing game no complaints I love it please add more features soon

It’s Broken

Villagers don’t work, they just stand idly around. They work a little in the beginning but once you hit 30+ villagers everybody just stops working for the most part

Great…But

The sandbox mode is great! Yet it keeps crashing. Only in sandbox mode I tried the other options. Happens constantly… great game but that bug is a bother

Love the game, but…

I absolutely love this game, however I can’t play it for very long because it completely overheats my phone so bad I could fry and egg on it. I don’t know if it’s just me or not. I have an iPhone 15. I just want to play my games without feeling like my phone is about to explode. Also, this game drains my battery within an hour. Is this normal for everyone else or…?

Favorite game but…

This is my favorite Apple Arcade game has been for many years, but the new tournament mode, I don’t get it. I don’t like it. I don’t understand how this is fun for anyone. It really doesn’t fulfill the spirit of the game, at all. Players game it somehow so there’s no possible way to be competitive in the tournament no matter how good you are. It really was much better with the new daily challenges (now they are reruns) so once you’ve completed all the levels, there’s no reason to play the game. Really too bad, hope it changes.

Needs some TLC

Lovely game, but sandbox mode needs some work! I'd like it to have the same layout as Outlanders 1, where you can edit EVERYTHING prior to starting!! I hate campaign and only ever play sandbox to relax at work. I'll stick to outlanders 1 for now but can't wait for this sequel to get more to it.

App is great, performance could be better.

Let me preface this by saying this is one of my favorite building/survival/civilization games. There are enough campaigns to keep you busy for a long time and add some incentives beyond sandbox mode. I must say, you will need a beefy phone because this game will drain your battery really quickly. It’s one of those games that has so many tasks and trackers going at once, so being hooked up to a charger is desirable. I’d say its gameplay performance requirements matches more to that of a computer game. Regardless, it’s probably in the top 10 best roadtrips games since many of the campaigns will take a lot of time yet require no internet connection. I’ve also encountered crashing issues with this game. It tends to have trouble loading large sandbox maps for some reason. It crashes pretty often after loading for ~30 seconds. I can usually fix it by not sitting on the app while it’s loading and do something else on my phone, but there have been times where I simply cannot play sandbox mode for several hours.

Amazing game, leaderboard cheaters

Love the game and I’ve played since the first one came out. I really enjoy challenging myself to get levels done quickly so that I can compare my score to others. However, the top spots are always filled with players that somehow beat the level in less than a day in game time. Obviously I can’t make an accurate comparison when the leaderboard is full of cheaters. Please find a way to fix this!!!

Make It Not Crash

I play on my phone and after playing for 5 minutes it crashes and My screen gets really hot

Great game

Loved the original challenges / Story. The new turn based tournament is not as relaxing and it takes it from a strategy based game to pure luck. There are always villagers doing nothing until more buildings are built.

fun fun funnn

I never play campaign but this one is super fun!

Crashing & Lag Remove the Fun

Game is great. No a doubt about it. What isn’t great is it crashes when population gets to big. It lags that means it’s not really playable. It would be great if you could sell or trade away more items if you have surpluses no e.g Sell 10 wood to get one 3 plank. Thus if you have an excess of resource you don’t end up filling up your wheat house with logs just to create space. Fix a few small things it goes from 3 star to 5 instantly

Game

My game keeps closing everytime I keep opening it and game has glitch but overall a fun game

Tournament mode is the last straw

I’ve played Outlanders since the first game came out. I remember waiting with as much patience as I could muster the 6 months or so it took for new levels and challenges to come out, and once they did, I’d spend the weekend beating them, and then the optional challenges. This game was once new and unique and clever. When the second game came out, I was excited about the updates and new engine but quickly found that every level or challenge required a new type of building we’d only ever use once or twice and felt like some of the magic had gone from the game.

Then came the daily challenges. At first they were fun but it clearly and quickly became about how quickly you could win the challenge, even at the expense of the point of the game. It stopped being about building. I continued to come back because levels continued to be released, though they were never as fun as the first game.

Tournament mode feels like the death bell for me. I honestly hate it. There’s no depth anymore, no magic, no exploration. You perform a few actions and then just watch. Yuck. I hate it. It’s not fun. In the pursuit of new players or some sense of novelty, maybe, they may have alienated those that helped give this game prominence. It’s unlikely I’ll pick this game up again.

Stop Changing it please!

Daily player and couldn’t agree more with some of the recent other reviews. The tournaments is dreadful, the daily challenges were at least a nice challenge and something I looked forward to daily. Many days I would repeat the challenges to try ti improve my score. Finally seemed to be getting longer challenges on the weekends too, had to plan for generations of workers. The game was getting better getting back to what made my love Outlander 1 . Now we have campaigns that have seemed to stop or the rare update every 6 months, repeated challenges and tournaments with auto builds.

For myself and the many others I would see playing the challenges daily. This latest round of changes and forced rework of game play is just dreadful. The campaigns brought us to the game, challenges were daily fun but the campaigns have been missed. Now all we get is tournaments.

My 6 yr old on the other hand loves the changes you made.
