New update sucks

I have no idea how to find new classes with this new update

Loopy design, greedy aspect

They want to charge a monthly "coin" subscription even for one-time classes so you overpay, keep paying, and always have a remaining balance that you have to chase (aka breakage). There is no other option. Impossibly greedy, dastardly company, shouldn't be in charge of children's education. On top of that, their website appears nice but is actually one of the worst designed UX in years, good luck finding even simple things.

Bad business model/team might kill Outschool

They changed to membership required which is against their mission of free access to education forcing families to pay monthly instead of drop ins based on needs and flexibility. I dont believe this is a sustainable business model. Do better.

Lost Customer

Our family has been using Outschool since 2020. Loved that when our schedules died down, during breaks or when specific interests arrised, we could join a class at our leisure. Just logged on to do just this and found that users are now being required to commit to a monthly membership. The "credit" system is also extremely confusing and requires users to need to figure out how many "credits" they'd need each month in order to take a specific class(es). Membership can be a great option for those who are taking multiple classes or plan on using it long term but it's completely ridiculous for our family to do this and not have the option to just pay for the class as we have before. Very disappointing decision by Outschool.

App is terrible.

In a day and age where people are doing more on their phones and tablets this app is not keeping up with the times. I have to go to the desktop to complete a majority of what I need to do with my child’s outschool classes, which is not the case in most other apps these days.

Used to love it, now completely turned off

My daughter has used Outschool on and off for years, and I used to sing its praises to everyone. I recommended it to so many parents because it offered great classes at fair prices. I recently logged back in after some time away and was honestly shocked. The new payment structure is outrageous. Prices have skyrocketed, and everything feels like it is designed to squeeze as much money as possible out of families rather than provide accessible learning.

It feels nothing like the Outschool we loved. The value just isn’t there anymore. I’m so disappointed in the direction they’ve taken, and I won’t be recommending it to anyone moving forward.

Fatal Bug(s) both in-app and on website

I’m someone who learns on this platform.
On both the website and the application (especially), it does not allow you to log in. On the website it’s barely accessible. In the app, it’s not accessible at all. It is almost impossible to log in and it has caused me major issues with being punctually on time. I need the developers to fix this as soon as possible.

Valued original platform; Despise the new model

Our family truly valued the original Outschool platform. Over the past six years, my daughter took a wide variety of classes and tutoring sessions that enriched her learning experience. Unfortunately, when Outschool switched to a membership model, our experience changed for the worse. The new setup feels overly complicated and no longer offers the simple, intuitive, and time-efficient experience we once appreciated. Managing credits, tracking classes, and navigating the platform has become confusing, time-consuming, and frustrating. We would have gladly continued using Outschool if the original model had remained, but we have officially parted ways with this once beloved platform as it’s no longer supportive to busy parents.

This is absolute garbage and shouldn’t be on the App Store

Content is AI drivel sometimes delivered by a live person who will have the kids play garbage video games for half the lessons, and NO REFUNDS. Be prepared to dispute charges with your bank after you’ve been scammed by this company.

Disorganized and not user friendly; filters are limited

This app is poorly configured. It has no user friendly way to search for classes that make sense. Sometimes I can find a way to search by a specific time and other times the search function is completely different. It’s a shame because there is a lot of good content but one of the most difficult interfaces (both the app and the website) to actually use consistently. Please get someone to upgrade the navigation user experience. Both instructors and students are missing out on programming because classes are hard to find with such search and filtering limitations.

Memberships Required

I’ve enrolled my child in Outschool classes for several years. He’s enjoyed all the different classes and teachers. We had a day off for a holiday and I was going to sign him up for a social gaming class, but now the website says memberships are required, so drops-ins aren’t going to be possible without prepaying for credits. It’s a predatory change forcing me to spend more money than I’d otherwise plan to, simultaneously pushing business away from random drop-ins like I planned for today.

Extremely disappointing experience with in-app charges

Bought $10 Outschool Cash via the app, got charged $19.99 CAD + tax — nearly 70% markup. No clear warning. Outschool blames Apple and refuses to offer any credit or goodwill. Disappointed by the lack of transparency and accountability.

This is kind of a problem

If a person forgets to sign up for a class or the adult forgets to sign up for the kids class that kid should be able to still be signed up for the class for full pay if the kid is for instance the class is that 1:00PM to 1:10PM the kid should be able to still be able to sign up for the class this is the problem because we parents sometimes do forget to sign up our kids for these classes and we have to wear a whole Nother week just for the classes start again

App doesn’t work

I have never been able to use the app, it just keeps on loading and never shows anything. I have to use a browser if I want anything to work. It’s annoying.

Not much functionality

Uninstalling the app as it’s pretty much useless, and lately it’s also out of sync with the changes in classes. The idea is nice, the functionality is just very limited and isn’t there. Please make this app more user friendly.

Useless

This app is absolutely useless. The PC website is 100x better than the app. It doesn’t even show the classes.

Teachers push woke agenda

My kids took two drama classes and were a part of a Roblox group. The drama teacher spent the first 15 minutes asking the kids what their pronouns were. All of the kids explained if they were a boy or a girl but the drama teacher said “But what pronouns do you want to use? You can be a boy and go by they or she….” It was so indoctrinating and unnecessary my 10 year old was like “What is this dad?” We unenrolled. We got in another drama class and it was worse. The teacher explained in the first five minutes that she was lesbian and asked the kids what they were. Then in the Roblox club one of the leaders explained she was depressed to the kids and that she didn’t have very much energy for the class today. These were our 3 classes we took. No thanks.

Cash balance is super expensive!

They charge $14.99 to get $10 cash credit in the account, and when enrolling in class, the $10 credit worth $10, IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!

When you enroll in class, they force you to use the $10 credit (which costs you $14.99) to pay for 1-1 tutoring class of $48, which means you pay $53.99 for a private class. BUT, if you don't purchase the cash credit, just pay the lesson with your credit card, it ONLY costs you $48 for the private class.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF CASH CREDIT?

Most importantly, the cash credit can't be refunded!!!
