Great coach service - poor app

I was initially confused by the journey planner in the app, which is badly implemented. I had tried searching for a journey a dozen times. I’ve tried and retried. Oxford to London Victoria Coach station. I’ve tried entering post codes or allowing it to use my location. Each time “No routes found”.

Once you know it works only with the station names, the planner works ok - but this is counter-intuitive - given that the app lets you search using your current location.

Once you’ve got past the app and are on the coach itself, the service is very impressive indeed!

completely unusable

impossible to make any purchases, never goes through

Do not rely on any time

Bus gps are not reliable, 2 out of 3 times buses don’t show up

Wrong information and delays

The app states bus stop M at Notting Hill Gate but its bus stop N.

And there are delays meaning my ticket is expiring.

Can’t buy Over 60s ticket

The Over 60s ticket option is difficult to find and even when you do manage to select it, the app charges the full fare. It’s a scam!

Poor Service

Drivers’ attitude are remarkably terrible.

Ergonomic but lacks live tracking

The app is user friendly it’s easy to navigate but there is a glitch which doesn’t show activated tickets in an open window but instead the live ticket is hidden and require few extra clicks Soto be able to show the valid ticket to the driver.
This is not a big issue for me but perhaps you would want to know that as you paid a lot of money to some IT business to develop you a reliable app.
The biggest issue I have with the app is that live tracking of coaches does not seem to be reliable and that would be helpful to fix please

App has made ticket activation stressful

There seems to be a bug which makes tickets disappear on activation. Each time I have had to ask the driver for help to retrieve it. I get the impression I am not the only passenger to have this problem. I never used to have this issue.

Very slow app

Very slow app and return tickets not easily seen

Is this app ever working?

It’s a good travel option I use regularly but the app is since years a bit a joke. Live map can’t be trusted as you never know it’s correct or not. Since the last update cannot even login anymore. Really sorry to say this but how can a serious business not being able to get this app working? Especially at this modern day. I hope one day it can be an asset rather than a liability. Never then less the busses are in great shape for this route.

Way too confusing

Assumes that the buyer knows it all and has full trust in the company. I don’t. What time is 03:45? To me it’s in the middle of the night but I have a feeling they mean pm. Please stop trying to be cool and provide required info so people know what they’re buying.

App does not work

App doesn’t work to buy tickets and constantly bugs. Customer service team have been super helpful in refunding tickets that haven’t worked so I can take alternative transport, but I keep having to pay the more expensive on bus fair as my app doesn’t work to purchase pre travel :(

No link

Instructions in app say go to link to buy ticket but there is no link shown. When you go buy it just sends you back to App Store to open app. Useless instructions.

Inaccurate - desperately needs updating

This app used to work, mostly. It was sometimes difficult to buy tickets through the app, and the full screen refreshing made it buggy to select a stop, but it worked. I used it to track the live buses.

With the addition of new routes to the Oxford Tube service, this app doesn’t even do THAT properly anymore. It is poor.

There is nothing telling passengers which route a bus is on. This is a basic necessity for the app, and it’s missing.

The real-life signs are now inaccurate, so I use the app. In the app, you can see a bus is on the move, but there is NO WAY to tell if it is actually going to come to your stop until it does - or doesn’t. You can no longer plan a journey efficiently.

It makes boarding in London incredibly difficult. If you go to Notting Hill Gate, for example, you could end up having to wait 45 minutes as two go the other way (unexpectedly) - even though there is no signage to inform you that this has changed. The alternative is giving up and travelling to Victoria every time.

In addition, the new route isn’t even visible on the app yet. It’s not been programmed in - or if it has, it’s been done poorly. Buses regularly look like they’re driving through the middle of nowhere.

I’d be happy to update the review when it’s fixed, but as it stands, this is awful. Especially as you can activate a ticket (for 15 minutes) while queuing and then find out the bus that’s just arrived is on the wrong route. That’s unfair to customers.

Surely there are only 3 major steps to fix this: 1) add in all the new stops, 2) programme in the new routes as a list of stops, 3) tag each bus with the route they are on as soon as they set off.

If there is a feedback team I will happily talk to you about this. Please fix it.

The current state of the service is putting me off, as a customer, and I am turning towards the trains instead. If the Oxford Tube app accurately informed me of the buses and the routes they were on, I’d be able to work around the inaccurate signage and would probably use the service more again.

Can’t use

The app seems like break down after I paid for my tickets😂 the money is out but the app is loading and loading for a day, I’m not sure if I can take the bus successful or not tmr…

Horrible Horrible app.

Apple Pay payment failed 4 times on the app, prompting me to retry. Then later charged me for all the failed attempts and sent me confirmation emails. App is so useless you can’t even load the tickets I I was charged for. Rather pay more and take the train.

Card charged but no tickets

App charged me for 2 tickets, claimed that "Payment failed" and did not give me the tickets. Customer support is only available via email.

Poor information and unclear UI

Heading to Oxford from Marble Arch, the app tells you to get on at the stop on the wrong side of the road, which is confusing. Then once you’ve bought a ticket it doesn’t appear unless you go to the buy again screen, which doesn’t make much sense.
Once I got on, people were just buying tickets on the bus anyway, so I won’t be using this app in future since it’s pointless

Terrible

Who had
The stupid idea that tickets would expire after 15 mins? And just how do returns work? Answer: they don’t. I’ve had very boxing frustrating day and both advertised to hone lines were unanswered.

Rubbish unintuitive and inaccurate

Rotten app.
