I don’t like the constant quizzes and prompts to review, you can’t turn that off and it’s ruining the story and experience. Make it an option to just listen to the content

Interactive Documentary
I love how these are like interactive documentaries. Each piece is bite-sized and fun so it’s not like actual work, but it’s deep enough to actually learn something.
Multi-step process to cancel
AI slop history app. I went through Apple App Store via my phone and chose a free trial. I later checked my subscriptions in my iPhone and noticed this app was not in there. I took this to mean I must have cancelled it. Apparently not. There is a hidden multi-step cancellation process. You have to dig through the actual app to cancel.

Error-ridden Lessons
The AI-generated history lessons are interesting but could use quality control. Details in the story are often contradict themselves within the same lesson. They are also often dramatized.

App is ok - Terrible customer service
Was not using the app - they billed me anyways - reached out 5 mins after charge hit my card and they responded with too bad we cannot help.
Really disappointed
I subscribed because of the ads showing short, engaging history videos that explain topics in a simple, easy-to-understand way—almost like “explain it like I’m five.” Those videos were exactly what I was looking for.
Unfortunately, after subscribing, I discovered that the app doesn’t actually offer much of that type of content. Most of the lessons are much longer, more descriptive, and have a completely different style from what was advertised.
To be honest, I feel misled. I paid because I expected the experience shown in your ads, but the product is very different. If those short, engaging history stories are only used for marketing and aren’t a core part of the app, that’s disappointing.
I think the app would be much better if it actually contained the kind of content you advertise. Right now, there’s a significant gap between the ads and the real user experience.

Not 3 min like Social media ad says
It’s interesting information on the app, but I’m really disappointed because I was looking for what was described on Instagram as 3 minute short videos, giving you an overview of a certain topic. Instead, they are much longer. I bought a subscription through October but I won’t be renewing unless it is changed to better represent the ad they put forward.

I put my age as 45+ and I’m in lessons like I’m a 4th grader. I just went into it because I enjoyed the brief 5 minute history recounts I saw on instagram. I don’t want to do quizzes, I just want to hear or read the stories of historical events and figures!
False advertising, the cute stick figure ads are not the actual app content

I looked for the stick-figure shorts and could not find them anywhere; there was no option to switch away from the “Uncanny Valley” 15 minute lessons.
Canceled the subscription. The advertising and the actual in-app experience do not match.
Give us the stick figure history explanations you advertised!

Steer clear of Paladin: Learn History.
Avoid Paladin: Learn History. My subscription renewed without me intending to continue, and trying to cancel and recover my money has been a nightmare. The account and subscription controls are unnecessarily difficult to navigate, customer support is nonexistent, and I still cannot obtain a refund for a product I neither wanted nor intended to keep.
In my experience, this system appears designed to profit from unwanted renewals while making customers fight to get their money back. That is unacceptable. Apple should urgently investigate these practices and reconsider allowing this app on the App Store. Until Paladin offers honest billing, simple cancellation, responsive support, and fair refunds, stay away and do not give this company your payment details.

I love history, this is absolutely a waste of money. It give a 2-3 minute report of the subject that a child could do, most likely AI. Go to podcasts because this is a scam.

Onboard and cancelling is a pita
I expected it to be very similar to the ad, there was no video or visuals and it’s something about the voice that was super annoying. Also canceling is not done through Apple. It’s done through website so it’s about a 10 step process to cancel. I just wasted $22 (for 1 month plan)

Great Alt for Doom Scrolling
Love the AI videos and how every story is read to you. I can just relax and enjoy. The ai videos sometimes have weird errors like hands going through walls but it’s not all that distracting. Just happy to have videos and art.
