What's New (App Store): What's new: • Back up your words and sync them across phones with an optional account. Find it in Settings, Your data, Back up and sync. • Hide subtitles printed on the video: turn on the cover in player settings and drag it over them. • Clips fill more of the screen, with your daily goal and the feed filter on the side. • In lessons taught in English, the English lines are dimmed so the French stands out. • A small celebration when you hit your daily goal. • Press and hold the app icon to send us an idea or message the founder. • Fewer slideshow clips in the feed, and better first clips for beginners. Got feedback? I'd love to hear from you at trent@tcfusion.dev

Papote uses short, authentic French videos with interactive captions. Words are highlighted as they are spoken, with both French and English translations provided. This method focuses on real-world spoken French rather than formal textbook language.
The app features a variety of short videos created by native French speakers, including vlogs, street interviews, cooking segments, and more. These are not specifically made for learners but reflect everyday French conversation.
Yes, you can tap on words you miss or want to remember to get their meaning and dictionary form. Saved words are then presented as flashcards for review using a spaced repetition system.
Yes, Papote offers a 7-day free trial for its yearly subscription plan. The monthly plan does not include a trial period.
Papote is a subscription-based app. It costs $9.99 per month or $49.99 per year. Prices may vary by region.
You can manage or cancel your subscription by turning off auto-renew in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
Papote is designed for those who can read basic French but struggle with understanding native speakers. It focuses on spoken language and colloquialisms, which might be more beneficial for intermediate learners looking to improve comprehension.
